I'd prefer a fairly bland (but biggish) space I can customize. Or keep bland for few distractions.
But downstairs , aren't wood burning stoves considered environmentally unfriendly these days?
Not so much for CO2 but for affecting poor air quality: Many could be effectively banned in London...
