It's been partially cleared, so no need to worry that someone was living there surrounded by plastic bags and piles of unwanted goods.

I think everyone,with advancing age, reaches a point where updating (again) becomes impossible to contemplate. Keeping things clean and replacing essential items is enough.

I'm not sure why but it makes me feel sad looking at that property.  It looks like an old person lived there so has either died or gone into care.  I personally cannot imagine living there as it is, but then you can see the stickers in the kitchen and the bathroom - someone didn't just stick them there for the sake of it, it was their home, and probably their whole world for 95% of the time or more.  It makes you wonder if they'd become acustomed to the way it is, or were just incapable of changing anything.

Part of me scoffs when I see it, then it's a reminder that there are people out there  worse off than ourselves.  It also makes me worry about my own future.

Plenty more tragic things happening in the world than someone living in a substantial and somewhat elegant house in a very pleasant part of an extremely rich country.  Parts of the place need tidying up, but one ought retain a sense of perspective...

I viewed one where the upstairs cupboard was literally turned into a shower cubicle, but it had a glass door on the front... Like the first thing you saw coming up the stairs would be someone in it. Why would anyone put that in.
