That’s all the stuff that you normally stuff in the garage or under the stairs before the EA p/viewers arrive.

When that was built it had an outside toilet and pretty much still does, except it’s no longer the done thing to have a chamber pot for calls of nature in the night!

Very common  layout (eg in London) for Victorian terraced. The "hall" is usually  just a small lobby usually with a door to the back.
Though most people favour upstairs bathrooms.

Not an uncommon layout - some people move the bathroom upstairs but you have to offset that by losing a bedroom or doing a loft conversion to keep the 3 bedrooms so it depends what's in budget or what people think is most important. I personally wouldn't favour a downstairs bathroom but I'd consider a downstairs bathroom / 3 bedrooms over an upstairs bathroom / 2 bedrooms.

some utterly gorgeous vintage furniture there, and some hideous ceiling tiles that are no doubt an absolute fire hazard or asbestos riddled.

I'm not sure why but it makes me feel sad looking at that property.  It looks like an old person lived there so has either died or gone into care.  I personally cannot imagine living there as it is, but then you can see the stickers in the kitchen and the bathroom - someone didn't just stick them there for the sake of it, it was their home, and probably their whole world for 95% of the time or more.  It makes you wonder if they'd become acustomed to the way it is, or were just incapable of changing anything.

Part of me scoffs when I see it, then it's a reminder that there are people out there  worse off than ourselves.  It also makes me worry about my own future.

It might not be the height of fashion, but I don't see anything particularly bad about it? Nothing seems materially in disrepair etc. We've seen far worse examples here of obvious hoarders etc.
