I didn’t even see the door. If the intention was to provide a porch along with shade for that window there were other options that would add so much more. A verandah with a bench and shallow steps for example.GaleSF63 said:

The "before" version is available on Streetview. Don't really understand the thinking though!Sarahspangles said:

That’s so weird. If you go up and down the road you get the before and after. A bit like a hologram.1

Good quality fake grass here. They also seem to have a dishwasher blocking half the patio doors, presumably because the kitchen is too small to fit it properly.

The whole estate is quite a strange place, architecturally and certainly worth a virtual drive about in. Looks almost as if a social housing builder has tried to design mansions and has ended up with buildings that resemble small blocks of flats.user1977 said:

The rogue portico may have a function as a rain diverter, if the addition of the dormer window has somehow affected the flow of water down the main span of the roof. Only a suggestion, mind, it is a mysterious addition.0 -

The "grass" needs a carpet stretcher.peter3hg said:Good quality fake grass here. They also seem to have a dishwasher blocking half the patio doors, presumably because the kitchen is too small to fit it properly.

But looking at the front of the house, "lawn care" is not their field of expertise.
The other side of the patio doors is also blocked by what I think is a tumble dryer.1
