Someone - maybe earlier in this thread - suggested it might be the builders way of meeting EPC guidelines.[Deleted User] said:

Or, are the houses built to a price point that allows them to sell. Supply of materials has been difficult of late and some materials have experienced significant price rises. Definitely ugly. Boxy houses do not appeal to me.robatwork said:Yep just a google quirk with that image. These houses really are as ugly and window-shy as they appear. Worse than this is the stultifying lack of imagination of our house builders. They are all identikit. Is this REALLY what the market is demanding, or just what lazy, unimaginative, reactionary, old-fashioned house builders think we want, or can throw up with little care and no effort when it comes to planning permission. As culpable are the councils who let these soulless boring housing estates proliferate.
Rant temporarily halted but will continue later no doubt.
It's a pretty dire situation when people can't afford windows. Or more likely the builders are just taking advantage.1 -
Is this a case of having an en-suite at all costs?

I'm sure that's part of it. Of course your electricity bill is going to be higher...
I'm not entirely against small windows, lots of Japanese houses have them and they work well, but that's because those houses are designed for small windows. British houses aren't really designed at all.0 -
Estate agents can be a bit slapdash with their doors on the floorplans, and there appears to be a logical place for a door from the corridor into the bedroom so it is possible they've missed it off.kipsterno1 said:Is this a case of having an en-suite at all costs?

What is going on with the weird 'rustic' finish on that wall in the kitchen?kipsterno1 said:Is this a case of having an en-suite at all costs?

Annoying to get to bed in bedroom 3 and realise you've left your glass of water in the kitchen!6

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

That really is horrible ! I know it was designed by some top end architect but it would be like living inside a laboratory. You would feel like you had to be decontaminated before you went in and would be scared to leave anything anywhere that may ruin the designer lines and minimalism.ManuelG said:
You would also need to employ a full time window cleaner with all that glass
It may be all floating beds and smoked glass, but its a 4 bed 2 reception room house for £2 million ! For that money you can buy a gorgeous real home with acres of gardens4
