Not a bad gaff, but a bit poncy for these parts. Lots to see (and bogs to clean!) Spot the chickens.

Why did planning permit such an ugly flat roofed ground floor extension on such an iconic thatched cottage?joho said:Hmm. I'm not sure a house that is held together with sellotape is worth £625k.

And even if they did, maybe the house hadn't been listed at that point.0 -

The people who live there now have to keep it as it is.

The fact the cottage was listed isn't the point. Milton Abbas has been known for centuries as a beautiful village of thatched houses, long before listing came into existence. So I don't understand why planning allowed that extension, unless as @user 1977 said it was never subject to pp applicationWoolsery said:lincroft1710 said:

Nice house, if just a tad over-decorated for me. I do love the tiles in pic 16, though. They look like Fired Earth - if they are, that expanse must have cost a fortune (and if they're not, someone please let me know where they're from, lol)!Woolsery said:Not a bad gaff, but a bit poncy for these parts.
