It never fails to amaze me how unrelaxing some homes are.Green_hopeful said:

Pic 9 is especially puzzling - the photo of the chap on the wall and the mannequin dressed in female clothes that are trailing on the carpet make you feel very micromanaged. The back garden is puzzling too why do they need a fence around the lawn (pic 14)? Altogether odd and unsettling, would be very interesting to interview prospective buyers or the EA I think.Green_hopeful said:2 -
Really? I think it's lovely. It's very much seventies into eighties aspirational, in the 'home of CEO of moderately successful electronics factory and pillar of the local tennis club' sort of way, but it's got some interesting features and the overall effect is good. It tries too hard to be something it isn't, i.e. an 'exclusive' residence, but it succeeds as a suburban detached house. The large rooms and generous windows give a fresh, airy feel.GaleSF63 said:

In the village where I used to live - the home to one of my teacher's was bought by the developer to gain access to the land behind and build 24-27 homes. He was able to take early retirement and get a property in a pretty village with the funds. Someone else I knew the semi was required to be able to get a petrol station for the supermarket. This was about 20 years ago. The money she received then was the same price to buy a similar property all done up with new kitchen and bathroom now.ProDave said:Plus if you look at the house opposite here: 58 Western Rd - Google Maps
was the terrace demolished to make way for the road?It looks like it. It looks like it was worth sacrificing a house or two to buy access the the land behind. But what is with the way they have dine it? what's with the irregular edge to the front wall? When are they coming back to finish it properly?0 -

I feel there are cats in this house that were not in the photos and that seems wrong.GaleSF63 said:2 -
I don't even mind that they haven't decluttered but I don't understand why there are close-ups of the clutterratechaser said:This popped up today a few streets from me. Maybe I'm just picky, but you'd think you'd declutter a bit more for a 7 figure listing. Starts ok, but what on earth is all that on the kitchen worktop?? Can I see a huge saveloy maybe?
That windowless study with a cat flap isn't exactly a remote workers dream either...4 -

My immediate thought was 'Abigail's Party'. It's the sort of house that Beverley would like.
