Haven't seen one of those little walls for years !  I think it was intended as a cool design feature in the sixties/seventies when folk knocked the separate toilet and bathroom into one. They weren't unusual then.....

I thought at first  perhaps it was the remnant of an internal wall but the window spans across the area - so it couldn't be the original opening if it were once 2 rooms -  and looking at the plan, I can't easily see how there could have been another doorway to a separate bathroom where the stairs are - though   they may have added the  wider window during any renovation.

I can't figure what on earth is going on there!  Is it one very effective hoarder?  Or is each room a dwelling?  There are two bedrooms with TV and fridge which makes me think someone lives in each one?!

I quite like it, but the first picture makes it look like it is slightly leaning, or the next door property is.  Is that the wide angle lens or is there a subsidence issue?  Possibly a university lecturer's house?
