Another 2lbs gone. Nice to see progress in the right direction and that what I'm doing is working. Still a long way to go. But that's 22lbs lost in total. I can feel the difference in my clothes.

Housemate has been helping out more this week. She cooked dinner Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Mostly because I wasn't feeling great but its all progress and when it's an easy meal I'm going to maybe suggest she do it. We've been doing the washing up together so one washes and one dries so that's a good sign as well. Still no progress on kitchen and bathroom cleaning but she is now cleaning the living room twice a week after the bunnies now they are sharing a pen and litter tray. Gonna see how long these changes last before start mentioning more cleaning. If she pulls her weight in terms of cooking and clearing up I can live with the bit of cleaning at weekend. Might suggest that I clean bathroom and we do kitchen together at weekends when we do tidying up. Think that might be a good compromise for now.

In terms of money front, budget is going well for this month. But started getting toothache last night so think a trip to dentist might be needed next week when I'm off. I don't have a fund for this or opticians (although I claim this back from work) so I think that might have to be my next category on ynab.
I sold my coffee machine that I never used and have even using the cash to pay for food shopping and transferring it into my savings account so that's my if forgot something account. It also has my birthday money in it. Think this might have to to towards the dentist cost and then just repay myself the birthday money.
Need to reign the takeaways in though as been having one every weekend for last 3 weekends and housemate wants another one this weekend. I do have the spends for it but feels like such a waste of my money. I want to go back to at least every other week but ideally once a month. Its good to know that I can still lose weight and have a takeaway though its a good sign for future that I won't have to miss out just have to be sensible.
Well done on the weight loss and good news in the housemate helping out more!

I too struggle with the takeaways. Am basically down to one a week now but it’s the same issue, bubble friends fancy one and feel tight saying no ha. But once a week isn’t too bad given the circumstances. If you can cut it back more then great.
I keep trying to remind myself that in current circumstances it's the only treat I get but just feels like such a waste of money and not even sure I'm enjoying it that much anymore now that I'm eating healthier. Always seems to greasy and oily.
Completely get you on that ha. I also keep a couple of nice pizzas etc. In stock and bulk cook to make sure I’ve got easy food in when busy/can’t be bothered to cook but seems like your issue isn’t so much that ha.

Annoyingly though, actually discovered a very good Chinese 5 minutes walk away that is cheap and wasn’t at all greasy! Been searching for a good Chinese in London for years ha. They don’t deliver but that is probably a good thing...the fact it’s so close and cheap means delivery is seriously bad value (double the price for worse food) but at the same time, the fact I have to leave the flat means I’ll only go when it’s planned ha.

The lesson for me is that a good takeaway is a worthwhile treat, eating it for the sake of it is a waste.
Agreed. We usually have pizzas in freezer as well for an easy meal but I've got a bit fed up of them lately. Might look at trying some of the supermarket versions of takeaways or just stop being lazy and make my own. It is nice at weekend not having to cook especially if I then do a roast dinner on Sunday as thats effort. Need to restock the freezer with easy meals again we've been running it down so it's all odd bits and single portions now. I.e one day is Chilli for one of us and curry for other but can both have with rice.

Asda also cook the pizzas a for you, for about £1 or so extra,  I think it’s the commercial oven they are cooked in that makes the difference.
  • I like the asda deli pizza maybe I need to get a few of those for the freezer instead. More expensive than the cheap frozen ones but alot cheaper than a takeaway version.

I agree, a takeaway is more about the not cooking for me too. Having stuff in the freezer is a good idea.

How are you getting on Sarah? I’d a bit of an unplanned snack attack tonight so I’m a bit annoyed with myself.  I’m finding the thought of coming out of lockdown in the summer a big motivator!

I'm doing OK food wise at the moment. Have avoided the scales as antibiotics and painkillers for my tooth are causing me to be constipated. Tmi sorry ha. But back to dentist tomorrow and today was last day of antibiotics. Been doing my walks and keeping within calories so should be OK. Put my denim jacket on today for my walk as sun was out and I managed to do it up for first time since I've owned it. Was so pleased. I think the end of lockdown is a good motivation for most people.

Good news re the denim jacket, hope the tooth calms down soon.
  • Well done on the weight loss, hope your tooth gets better soon.
Is your house mate staying for much longer, I can't remember what the term of her lodging was.  Glad she's helping you out more :)
I always find the pizza express pizzas a good compromise, they taste like the ones you get from the restaurant and are usually on offer somewhere, so pretty reasonable price wise

    Thank you.
Originally the plan was for about a year, we're now 18 months in haha. I think its going to be a while yet tbh. Probably whenever she meets someone and wants to move in with them. I think once we can start doing stuff other than walking at weekends it will be easier for us both.
I haven't tried the pizza express ones from supermarket will give them a try.
