I wouldn't reduce my broadband but my TV package as other than sport I mostly watch on netflix and prime which can do using my fire stick. Most normal TV has catch up now so could watch on there using apps too. I watch my sport on my ipad half the time as well so mobile option may be better for me and just watch on ipad all time.SSTJCKel said:
Don't go for a limited package though. With this lockdown you are probably using more data than you think. Unlimited broadband is a necessity these days. Mobile phone packages are another matter of course and many are paying far more than they need to and have phones that are totally unnecessary. I have a reasonable phone thats adequate for when i'm out and about but use a tablet on wifi at home which works really well and is far easier to use due to the much bigger screen size. You can get a 10 inch tablet from argos for about 80 quid. Despite the initial outlay it works out much cheaper over the year than an all sing all dancing phone.Sarahwithlove said:
That's my plan I think although with the package I have it's not that much cheaper else where so think I need to have a think about what I really want.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7000

I use freeveiw but i'm in a restricted area so only get a handful of channels so as the property has a sky dish I bought a Humax freesat box and now get the full range of free channels at no cost.1

I get pretty much all full channels only part I might miss is ability to record films but I hate adverts anyway so probably best as I usually end up not watching them for that reason.SSTJCKel said:I use freeveiw but i'm in a restricted area so only get a handful of channels so as the property has a sky dish I bought a Humax freesat box and now get the full range of free channels at no cost.
I'm certainly leaning towards going to just broadband and using my firestick and sporys on mobile app. If change my mind then can always get sports via now TV.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7000

Had a play around with YNAB and have put my pots back into individual pots rather than one sinking Fund. It helps me to better see where I am with topping them up and can prioritise in terms of what bills are due next. Feel much better about it now. Next few months I have decided to just pay min payment on card (£25) and focus on getting my funds back up as have had a lot of unexpected expenses lately and I know I have a few jobs around the flat that need doing this year.
My birthday tomorrow so have next two days off work for a long weekend. My dad gave me £50 to get myself something so have put it to one side for now whilst decide what I want to do with it. I've been debating getting a new laptop as mine seems to have given up the ghost. But I can pretty much do everything on my ipad so wonder if I really need one. I might hold off for a few months and decide then. I'd only really be using it for my course I want to do. But am wondering if I could use my work device for it or my ipad again.

Happy birthday!
A long weekend off sounds like a nice way to celebrate. I hope you manage to have some fun

Have you asked the people who run the course what sort of devices they support? I'm considering doing a distance learning course myself and in the online open day they were quite explicit that they support Windows and OS X, and you could do a lot with 'anything that needs a browser' but there were certain programs they wanted us to use that don't have tablet versions. That could make the decision for you?
