OK thanks I was sort of thinking along same lines but also seen people say they don't include it. Just have to try limit number of days I go to shop lol.joedenise said:Food shopping is essential but I still count it as a spend day! I don't count days when DDs come out though as they come out throughout the month rather than all on one day - I get my money weekly and monthly so don't want them all coming out at the same time!
Healthy eating - just start! Don't put it off until tomorrow - you know it never comes!
Yep I agree. I also want to try and cut back on the McDonald's and takeaways anyway tbh.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7000

I hope you manage to do something nice for your birthday! Definitely get yourself in at the salon as soon as it's safe to do so.
I don't really track NSDs like some people do, but I have a weekly food budget and anything above that 'counts' as being a luxury. Good news is I have no social life right now so I'm not eating out, or getting coffees out - so that saves a fortune!Start Debt Jun 2020 = £10,036 - Current £5,894 | #324 £1,000 Emergency Fund Member - £2051 -
I still somehow manage to spend my spending allowance each month despite having no social life. Clearly I have been having too many lunches on go! Think might have a look back through last 6 months in ynab to see what been spending it onceremony said:I hope you manage to do something nice for your birthday! That's a good idea - if a bit scary!. But the thing I have learned is the amount you can save by not spending small amounts of money (or at least not spending so often) is a real game changer when it comes to your end of month balanceI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

@Sarahwithlove just found and subscribed to your diary! How’s the healthy eating going? We are feeling a bit peckish between meals after going cold turkey on all the chocolate, cakes etc!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Haven't got round to doing it yet as my laptop isn't working very well at the moment and bit of a slog on the app. Gonna see if can do it on my ipad. Have managed to resist temptation of buying myself a coffee twice this week and no sweets and Crisps have been purchased.mark55man said:That's a good idea - if a bit scary!. Thanks! It's OK not as well as I would like but I'm trying to remind myself that I'm doing better than I was. I too am finding I'm hungry during day so been snacking on fruit mostly. We ate the last of the chocolate in the house and there's only enough proper hot chocolate left for two cups so going to let my housemate have that and use the lower Calorie stuff for myself. But we have no junk food in the house anymore so hopefully should be easier. Just need to reign in on the fizzy drinks now. But it's only thing keeping my sweet tooth at bay currentlyBluegreen143 said:@Sarahwithlove just found and subscribed to your diary! How’s the healthy eating going? I do Slimming World which is basically a healthy eating plan and I rarely feel hungry between meals but if I do it's usually fruit or I'll use my syns for a square or two of dark chocolate. At the moment my snacks are HM falafel as on SW these are a free food; I've also got some HM hummus which can also be made as a free food but I prefer to make it with tahini and then use my syns and have a small amount with veg sticks.
If I want fizzy drinks I just make sure I buy sugar free ones or have fizzy water with sugar free squash.

Have you still got the books Sarah? You could carry on doing SW and come and join the thread on the Health and Beauty board for SW support. There are lots of SWers on the forum and several who post regularly.
