Yes I think by January most of the country will effectively be back in lockdown because that's pretty much what tier 4 is. But your right try and see positives. It's a break from work which is so needed right now.joedenise said:Yes I'm Tier 4 too and I agree it's harder this time round. Doesn't help that the weather is so miserable and it gets dark so much earlier. But it's just a case of putting up with it and hoping that we can get our of Tier 4 sooner rather than later although from the messages from Patrick Vallance yesterday it looks even more of the UK is likely to have to move into Tier 4 too soon. Not sounding very positive at all. Still it's not long until Christmas and the New Year and hopefully 2021 will be better than 2020 - well eventually anyway!*Dad loan - £5300 - £7000

fellow tier 4'er here. I'm pretty sure the rest of the nation will follow suit , theres talk as soon as boxing day.
Seems inevitable that although being back in lock down ( which is effectively what we are) may take the pressure off the NHS ,its ultimately going to transfer the problem to other regions of the country.
I don't envy anyone whose job it is to try to keep the economy stable and the NHS manageable.
There will be rule breakers across all tiers which is even more frustrating for the people who are following guidance trying to put an end to this
I sincerely hopes he keeps the schools in lockdown too in the new year.
I can't see any of my kids on xmas day , thats never ever happened in their life time and even though they are now in their 20's its still disapointing but not unexpected.

Bit behind with your diary, so have skim read to catch up! We're in tier 4 too, it's rubbish. Had got used to a bit of freedom again and it's gone. Bit put out that they randomly invented a tier... if they keep schools shut, I'll be very put out. I'm not convinced any measures will help, it's a virus and will spread.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

The rest of my county followed on boxing day into tier 4 so won't be long until most of country I think. I don't know why it's bothering me so much its not like I did much anyway to need to go out and about so nothing she really changed. Think it's more I want to see family and friends at this time of year and i can't. It's always hard around Xmas as it reminds me that my mums not here, haven't seen my brother and his family for over 14 months and would have been my mums birthday on 31st. But I'm doing OK, just making sure I get out for a walk each day, I'm lucky to have a beach on my doorstep so been there last few days for a walk. Even if people annoy me with not keeping 2 metres apart or being considerate of others.efes_shareholder said:fellow tier 4'er here. so lovely to be by the beach - would certainly get me out the house a lot more often.
apparently Tier 5 was trending on twitter, but as a joke more than reality - although I can't help feeling there may be more to comeI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Hi Sarah, just catching up. Sorry to hear about your Christmas plans & tier 4. You are doing so well, think of where you'd be if you didn't have your savings and adjusted spending! Sorry to hear you're having back problems too, I really hurt my back once and paid to see all sorts of people. The only thing that really helped it was time and rest.
I'm in Northern Ireland and we went into complete lockdown again from boxing day. We still had Christmas day which was nice but it's surreal being back in lockdown again. Even essential shops close at 8pm this week. I think we just need to day each day as it comes and get through it as best we can.Debt Free as of December 2020 👏

Thanks it certainly helps having the funds to fall back on and haven't spent it all so will be moving some back. Also been using my time to do a bit of matched betting. Not sure how long will keep it up for but it all helps. Have got lots of meat in freezer which we grabbed on yellow sticker at half price Monday so that should help keep costs of food down for January and give me chance to adjust to new healthier eating costs. Off to finalise this year's figures and my plan for next year.CreditCardJunkie said:Hi Sarah, just catching up. Sorry to hear about your Christmas plans & tier 4.
