Sadly, updating to 13.3.1 hasn't fixed the problem. Thank you anyway for your suggestion, it was worth a go.

It should work Sky Mobile say all phones after iPhone SE and 6 should have WiFi calling.

Yes, it should work, but it doesn't. Unfortunately Sky are in denial about it (as mentioned earlier). Their forum has quite a number of posts confirming this, just wish I'd thought to visit that before I'd switched. OH is having exactly the same problem, that phone is also on their list of "approved" phones. It works very rarely so is completely unreliable, so now relying on the call forward instead.

You are on the latest iOS version? Have you tried to see if WiFi calling works on another WiFi network as it could be your router blocking it, I have seen that on mine with EE, works on most networks but a few seem to block WiFi calling and it never appears.

I see now you said O2 worked. You could try resetting network settings in Settings, General, Reset, it will forget your WiFi passwords etc, but may help. I presume the WiFi calling switch is on, try removing the sim shutting down the phone and restarting it and replacing the sim, you could also try someone else’s sim in and then put yours back.

Also on some networks (not EE) WiFi calling doesn’t kick in if the cellular signal strength is stronger than a certain level.

Yes, as mentioned in post #21 have updated to 13.3.1.

It's not my router as I was with o2 before and WiFi Call worked fine, I switched to Sky (who piggyback off o2) as it offered texts over WiFi in addition to WiFi Call. So, now I can get texts over WiFi (great for banking now with authorisation codes), but at the cost of WiFi Call. Moral of the story is always check out a mobile provider's forum first :(

Not much help to you but Three and EE offer calling and texts over WiFi with no issues, one reason I stay away from VF and O2.
  • This is probably because your phone is not a Sky mobile one and isn't running their carrier software. I once fixed an identical issue (wifi calling was on but still not showing in the notifcation bar or working) on a BT Mobile by flashing the phone to carrier software, in Skys case O2 (sounds scary but actually quite simple). There is no such thing as an iPhone running an operator’s software. Apple does not allow operators to change the software at all.

I was just referring to Android phones. Sorry I don't know what to do for Apple.
  • One of things to establish is if Wi-Fi calling works with the sim in a compatible phone.
I did this with a Vodafone sim when I told it was working and it didn't so I knew it wasn't my phone.

The only networks that have worked well for me are 3, iD and BT Mobile.
