There is also this information on the Sky website which you should be aware of.

"Keep a look out for more compatible phones coming soon.

One to watch out for: If you didn't get your phone from us, it might not be compatible with Sky Mobile Wi-Fi calling. To check, set up Wi-Fi calling and try making a call over Wi-Fi. If the ‘Wi-Fi call’ indicator doesn’t show, then your phone isn’t compatible."

This may explain the problem you are experiencing.

    https://www.sky.com/help/articles/wi-fi-calling

I'm getting the WiFi Call text on the screen, and it has worked once or twice, but so infrequently it is useless, so it is available just not working properly. I do need this feature for urgent calls from medical staff for very poorly elderly mother. It's Sky's lack of acceptance that it doesn't work that is so frustrating as well.
Not that it is much help but I was reading a review of various providers the other day and Sky's Wifi calling did not rate very highly.

I did see one suggestion of putting the phone in flight mode leaving wifi on which should force it to use the wifi for calling

I've tried putting it in flight mode as well, unfortunately it didn't make any difference.

The way to force it is to turn on airplane mode and then turn WiFi back on, if WiFi Calling is active it will connect.

OP, why not just set up a call divert to your LL from yr sky mobile

Thank you. I have the same problem when I'm at my mum's (no signal, but has WiFi) which is probably where I need it more than anywhere. It isn't an ideal solution, but would certainly be a "patch up" job. Just hope I keep remembering to switch the divert off, and when I'm home to replace the number to my landline!

Do you know if there's a charge for diverting calls?

Thanks for this thread. I was thinking of switching the missus phone to Sky mobile from GiffGaff for the WiFi calling.

If it's that iffy I will pass and look for alternatives. I'm on Three and wifi calling is brilliant, but prefer for us to be on different networks so Three and IDMobile are out.

It would appear, from Sky Mobile's Tariff Guide, that they don't charge for Call Diverts so long as it's part of the inclusive allowance e.g. standard UK landlines and mobiles.

Out of interest, OP, which version of iOS are you running on your iPhone 7 and what's the carrier version? If you open Settings>General>About you'll find it on that screen there.

How about setting up a diversion when you have no signal rather than all calls, you can set it up by dialling *62*number*11# or in the divert menu

The Software Version is 13.3, but I can't find anything listed as Carrier Version, (is this called something else?). There's something called Network Provider, which has 40.0 after it.

I didn't know you could do this, thank you. Though I would still have to keep changing the forwarding number from mine to mum's and back again several times a day as I don't have a signal at either.

You have the latest carrier version, 40.0, but Apple released iOS 13.3.1 last week. Might be worth updating to the latest release. Granted it's a completely different iPhone model but customers on o2 have had issues with iOS 13.3 on iPhone XR which iOS 13.3.1 should fix.

Thank you, I'll try that and see if it makes a difference. I'll feed back here if it does.

Sadly, updating to 13.3.1 hasn't fixed the problem. Thank you anyway for your suggestion, it was worth a go.
