I have a thread but it’s closed so I opened a new thread.
Original thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5664789/they-sent-me-a-claim-form-for-322-02

I thought it was over since I haven’t heard anything after I sent the defence but then I got this letter today. Can’t find another thread with this so asking for help here. Not sure if the photo of the letter has successfully upload so this is what the letter says.

The letter starts with a title
WITHOUT PREJUDICE SAVE AS TO COSTS
All the info on the claim; reg number, pin ref, date of incident, claim number.

Dear Sir/Madam,

A County Court Judgement (CCJ) was recently obtained against you in the sum of £344.02 in respect of an unpaid Parking Charge Notice (PCN) issued by Civil Enforcement Limited. You can confirm the CCJ Ccliam number detailed above) with the County Court Business Centre, which issued the Judgement. We now intend to apply for an Order for you attend before a Court Officer for questioning about your financial status, including: who you work for; how much you earn; your bank accounts and credit cards; and what possessions you own.

We may then enforce the Judgement against you through an Attachment of Earnings Order, Third Party Debt Order or a Warrant of Execution using the Court bailiffs. The Court fees and legal cost of this process is at least £265.00 which will be added to the amount you already owe us.
OUR OFFER TO SETTLE THE JUDGEMENT DEBT

We hope to avoid taking this action against you if possible. as a final effort to try to settle the matter, we are prepared to accept £258.02 in full and final settlement of the outstanding Judgement debt if you pay within 14 days of the date of this letter. Details of how to pay the settlement sum can be found on the reverse of this page.

if you do not pay the settlement sum within the stated period, we may commence enforcement proceedings for the full Judgement sum without further notice to you, which will increase the amount of money you owe.

Yours sincerely,

Legal Team
Civil Enforcement Limited

Followed by a draft form of Application for order that debtor attend court for questioning.

Wow, you defended a claim then never heard anything more in 2017, then they wrote to you in 2020. What did they say, show a scan of the letter.

Are you certain it is about the same PCN number?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You need to work out why you heard nothing from the Courts after filing your Defence.

Did you move home and not tell anyone?

Did you ignore a Directions Questionnaire from the Court?

To have received a County Court Judgment against you means that for whatever reason, you did not continue with the process.

Looks like a good idea to me.

Also ask them why a Default Judgment was issued against you.

Check for the CCJ using TrustOnline first.

    And then:

DO NOT PHONE CEL AND DO NOT PANIC AND PAY IT OFF IF THERE IS A CCJ!

You need to find out first.

Did you fail to fill in the Directions Questionnaire when the court sent it to you?

Did the Court have an OLD address for you?

Did the claim go to the right address to start with?

    Same letter as this case:

It looks like CEL are sending out fraudulent letters claiming people have a ccj when there is none.

Report this to Trading Standards, the BPA and DVLA

    Is it though?

Does the claim number match the one you defended in 2017...or is this a new one?
