    How about a rescue dog?
  • Just being checking quite a few forums on MYGuide 3100 and the consensus of opinion is that the customer support is non existent due to the company being recently taken over, and getting updated or current maps (app they are aprrox 3 yrs old) is impossible, and as yet the new firm have not given any guarantee that any will be available in the future. Anyone having technical or software problems has to resort to the forums as there is no communication from Myguide. Maybe thats why its so cheap.

Can i recommend the Garmin NUVI 300T, comes with UK maps and a traffic receiver for £145 from Amazon. Or the ViaMichelin x-970T, comes with either, UK or full western european mapping, traffic receiver and bluetooth for handsfree calling with your mobile, Uk version £122, Europe £146.
If you go for Tomtom, get the tomtom ONE with european maps from amazon or Dixons for £130. Go for the tomtom ONE WE(western Europe) version because it has more maps and twice the memory(1Gb) of the UK only map version(512mb). The traffic receiver is about £50 or get the Tomtom ONE Europe Traffic for £185 or the Tomtom ONE UK traffic for £154.
The MyGuide 3100 is popular because its cheap, but also because you can 'hack' it, you can then put what software you like on it, tomtom, iGo, etc and put on things like a movie player.
  • Have you considered the Mio Digiwalker ? Has rave reviews on PC Pro http://www.pcpro.co.uk/labs/120465/mio-digiwalker-p550.html

I got my OH the Navman N40i from a Tesco home store, cost £129.99 which is good as it is around £180/£200 anywhere else.

It does full postcode, UK & europe, has safety cameras installed, you don't need a subscription for it, and a bonus is it is also a camera, which means you can take a picture of a road sign or land marking on your journey and if you want to go there again, you just bring the photo up and it will take you straight there! :)
