The XL has a Widescreen.
The other would have a standard screen.

In your original request you mentioned the ability to avoid traffic. The Navman S30 as far as i'm aware cannot be fitted with a traffic receiver, the Tomtom ONE v3 UK can, its about £50, or buy a combined package from amazon for £154. Buying the UK only tomtom ONE does limit your ability to add more maps in the future, it only has 512mb of memory(1000mb for euro version), the UK map is about 110mb, France is about 210mb. Plus if you have to buy individual country maps in the future its more expensive than just buying the whole of Europe, until Jan 2008, £30 per country or £40 for western europe(920mb).oliveoil54 wrote: »I'm torn between the Navman s30 and TomTom one v 3 Great Britain, can anyone give me their own personal pros and cons for both?
The tomtom XL has widescreen, memory card expansion slot and you can add a traffic receiver.
If you start looking to add a traffic receiver to a Tomtom XL your looking at £200, at this price range there are much better units including the Navman S90i for £220 or the Garmin NUVI 660 for £215, they both come with europe, traffic, text to speech and bluetooth. Or as i mentioned earlier the ViaMichelin X-970T which comes with everything for £145.0 -
Problem with the tom tom traffic add on is the versions in stores currently are near useless as they rely on receiving traffic signals from RDS radio signals broadcast on classic fm's signal....BUT if you did decide on the tomtom & buy the additional traffic receiver (currently £35 argos) tomtom have released an updated version..you simply contact them send your old traffic module back & they send you a new updated one free of charge....I've had a tomtom 510 for a few years & the origional traffic plug in was hopeless...just received my updated new plug in receiver & i'm impressed so far...I also use the tomtom traffic through my mobile phone connection this is an additional subscription but seeing as the new plug in receiver is working toms better than the old one i'll not be renewing the traffic subs as the receiver option is free!We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
