Would like a reliable car sat nav thats easy to use, has post code search and will re-route past traffic jam, also poss the ability to add extra maps. My daughter (used to work in car phone wharehouse selling GPS) seems to think TomTom are the best, but have done research and they seem to have reliability issues and appear to be the more expensive than others. Ideally only want to spend £100 - £150. The more I research into what is available the more confused I get. Someone help me choose please?

Hiya, from personal experience I would recommend the Tom Tom. I have had a TomTom 7 for a couple of years now & I have never had a problem with it.
I always use it when I am abroad as well as in the UK & I have had no issues.Nationwide bank charges reclaimed - £1500ishMatched betting profit - £94.26 - started 17/11/07Quidco - £86.31Tesco Clubcard - £520 in deals since August 07Competition winnings - £5 Amazon voucher, Family ticket to the Panto worth £57.:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :jThis time next year Rodney, we'll be millionaires

For the price you want to pay I would recommened the TomTom, I have the basic TomTom and you can do so much with it. I did have the Navman F20 and didn't like it at all, you can't change your routes like you can with the Tomtom.0

The Tom Tom one V3 with European mapping is currently £130 on Amazon which is cheaper than the version with just UK maps. You can get traffic updates via an optional receiver. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I am going spread some oil on the fire
What about the Myguide 3100
I know it's not tom tom, but depending on how much you intend to use it, is it really worth spending quite a lot of money on it, If you do a google for it on the net, the satnav seems to have quite a few supporters0 -
Just checked out Myguide 3100 - it looks really good. But reading the comments from the customer reviews on your connection you need to download extra info to make it work effectively. Has anyone any experience of using one?0

if you are meaning the safety camera database, then it is relatively simple
It will require a small annual fee, but you'll find that with TomTom too0 -
go to pocketgpsworld.com for your speed cameras, they also have a good forum about different sat navs0

Hi - Thought I would just put my penny worth in and ask what people think of the Lidl offer of a Becker Traffic Assist Pro 7916 - at £159 it seems like quite a good deal although I don't believe we need all the European maps - just a good post code search would suffice. Does anyone have experience of this one?
