Advice Req please - which Sat Nav system?

Hi,

Want to buy my hubby a Sat Nav for Xmas but only have around £110 to spend. Ideally would like to have traffic updates included but understand this prob not possible in this price range. Maybe there's one where you can buy system separately?

Been doing some research and like Sony NV-U52 currently £99 at Halfords or Navman S30 £115 at Amazon but neither can do traffic updates. Is this really worth it anyway?

Does anyone have any recs for systems on this budget?

Cheers!
Lou

if you can stretch to 126 quid, that will get you the tomtom from amazon, far better in my opinion.

Was just going to edit post to say that could now stretch to £150.

Tom Tom was my first port of call but I have read bad reviews on them so not keen. Are they OK then?
  • they are the market leader for a reason. They are very good

  • Go for a Tom Tom or a garman. I have a Navman and it is a bag of crap. it cost me £400.
  • I have to agree with others about Tom Tom. I replaced a Navman with Tom Tom One and never regretted it. In spite of the One being a bit more basic, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
From experience Navman are a pile of pooh and it cost nearly twice the Tom Tom One, the included maps were never correct and I ALWAYS had to revert to good old paper maps, it was also forever loosing the satellite signal. The One picks up within seconds and is always full signal. I was, believe it or not, more than happy to sell it at a big loss (Navman) to another mug on Fleabay!! If you contact them with a problem they just ignore. The opposite with Tom Tom, I had a problem with mine connecting to PC and they replied with solution within 24 hours.
