How could anybody still play this down saying it’s only a bit worse than the flu?

if that were true then how do you explain the global financial crisis going on right now?

I have a family member who works for a major supermarket. This particular chain pick and pack online orders from the shelves of the supermarket.
The pickers say that the volume of work has increased by 15% since last week. Panic buying, surely not.

Buying to hoard is panic buying. Buying online instead of visiting a shop to reduce social contact seems reasonably sensible. I've been doing it for years.

More likely people not wishing to expose themselves to human contact in crowded places.

ALL indicies are showing national increases still, and it is quite clear that China are now on top with other countries now just having to go through that they did for a short while. By all means post bad news on the housing market, but don't post false stories please

It’s a bit more complicated than that. A family member is an essential part of an important team and cannot afford 14 day’s isolation. When he pulled out the whole group decided not to go.
