Feeling a little down as havent managed to pay anymore off the loan. I need to realise exactly how far I have come as adding it up I have made £600 overpayments in january as well as loan repayment amount. Looking forward to pay day that's not till a week and half.
My goal this week is to find more time to list and sell unwanted items so it can go straight to the debt..
Does anyone have any useful tips on ways to save money, or make money other than selling and working overtime??0 -
Rgib89 you're doing so well! I'm really glad you stopped for a moment to see just how far you've come. It's frustrating when things don't seem to be improving quickly enough (I'm feeling exactly the same), but I think it's bound to feel that way at the beginning. Keep going and you'll get the traction you need to blast that debt - you're doing brilliantly0

So after me taking a little break, I've decided I need to get my head back into being debt free. I need the motivation from you lovely people to keep me going . Last month was a hard month as didnt managed to pay any over payments off the loan, only done minimum payments. I get payed friday so will be paying over payments this month.
My goals are,
* sell unwanted items going through room by room
*any money made to be transferred as over payment
*meal prep and use what foods are in the cupboards and freezers
* keep my diary up to date to keep me motivated

Debt currently at £13, 972. Not including interest.0

So just an update from me.
Managed to get a cheaper interest rate on my loan, dropping it by 10% , so interest rate currently at 3.9%.
I have had a really good sort out and have a pile of things ready to list to sell. I will wait until the uk gets back to normal before doing this.
No other news, hoping everyone is ok and keeping safe at this terrible time.

So after a crazy year for us all, furlough and not being able to pay much off debts, im back with new figures and a different mindset. Christmas has passed and I'm happy to say that I didn't add to my debt (this hasn't happened in a very long time) ..
With the way these hards times have been (even tho I havent had added to my debt) it have set me back 6months to my debt free date.
My phone contract ended last month so ive gone for a sim only plan deal instead of getting a new phone (also a first for me) saving £30 a month .
I hope everyone is keeping safe.
How's everyone managing on the debt front xx

I wouldn't worry about the set back on your debt free date, the way this year has been getting through xmas without adding to the debt is a massive achievement in itself. Its disheartening I know but it will all be alright in the end. Good luck going forward and stay safe xxJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
Mortgage Jan 18- 77224 May 25- just under 65k
June 25 Debts in my name only £5170. DH can't keep track...1 -
Thank you so much for your kind words..
I've got a chicken and mince going off tomorrow so chicken in the oven cooking ready to make a curry for tonight and I will make a spag bol and freeze it ready for a day when me and my partner can't be bothered too cook (save us having a takeaway) .
I feel bad trying to think of ways to get debt down etc with the way things are in the world.0
