The feeding guidelines are just that a guideline. Some dogs will need much less than recommended and others much more.

What is her weight like compared to  what she should be?

Going poos four times a day is a lot for any dog.

I suspect she is being fed too much and feeding less will stop the overnight poo.
It's not necessarily being fed too much, it can be other factors. My twice a day dog has gone to 4 a day since I introduced yumove to his diet. I'm hoping he acclimatises, otherwise I'll have to look for an alternative.
Elsien, did you get the code I sent you?
I did thank you. Thought I'd replied to your message, apologies if I forgot to hit the send button.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

You're welcome, I hope Gitdog's fighting fit soon. I wasn't sure if I'd even sent the message correctly  :/

Oh dear things had been going so well! Last night as usual dogface had tea at 8pm, walk at 10pm with poo. She woke me at 6.20 am and I was greeted with wee, poo and after she had been out she was sick  (bile) and now won't eat her food. I've taken it away for now. Alarm set for 6am tomorrow.

If changing her food and feeding times is not working then take her back to the Vet.

I did all of those things for my late cat after she started vomiting alongside weight loss, it turned out to be a terminal illness.

Not suggesting your dog is at deaths door but your posts have definite similarities with what I was doing.

    Oh dear!

Sometimes the odd accident can happen.

Our dog is sick with bile some mornings when he has an empty stomach. Our vet reckons he has a slight problem with acid reflux. To combat this we give him some supper just before we go to bed. Not much just a small amount of his usual biscuits (we don't feed him any more just the same amount split over four meals) and this is enough to keep him from being sick in the morning.

We have also found that sometimes if he is late eating his breakfast then he puts off eating we think because he gets stomach acid and feels ill. We have to tempt him to eat a bit of something, boiled egg usually works, and then once he has something in his stomach he feels better and will go and eat his breakfast/dinner.

I am sure she's not ill because she's her normal self otherwise. I have a routine vet appointment Monday so I will mention it. Let's see if its a one off tomorrow. Thanks for all this advice I am listening.
  • Does she have free run of the house during day then sleeps in kitchen at night? If shes used to you being around during day then maybe it could be separation anxiety? Maybe leave a few slow feeding treats that would take a while for her to get through scattered around the kitchen to keep her entertained?

Give him proper meat and stay away from wheat based dry food.
Dogs and cats need meat....not flavoured biscuits filled with carp.
Wheat/carbs will cause the hunger problem.

Just an update. Things been better of late (I'm nervous to say). I adjusted her feeding time to 8am and 7.30pm which seems ok. She has some biscuits mid afternoon. The clocks going forward has meant she has slept until about 6.45 which is better. Not many poo accidents recently. So fingers crossed for now. I think she is ok with her diet. Obv getting 2 good walks a day with the isolation situation.
