Hi guys
I started writing a post and then got distracted....
1LL - I hope you're better soon. Your lists always make me jealous!
Bit of a disturbed night and I'm joining DNMS in the 5am crew as OH had a slightly squiffy tummy and he woke me getting out of bed. Still he's feeling ok now as he's gone out afternoon drinking with a couple of mates!
I'm feeling good again today which is very pleasantI really hope this lasts into the weekend! I have taken Sunday off to make up for working Thursday last week.
I went to the charity shops in nearby small town at lunchtime to see if there were any jeans. i have bought a pair. They are brand new with the tags. They don't fit very well (I always find that they gape at the back) but I'm hoping they will be comfy enough for home. I've had to go up into a 12 given the current lack of exercise so I suspect that the jeans won't last for long before returning to the cs. I also bought a pair of black wide leg linen summer trousers but I couldn't try them on so they are a gamble!
Today's mse things:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores.
:heartpuls Smartprice beans on toast for tea!
:heartpuls Check PMP
:heartpuls Flushed loo with water saved from shower
:heartpuls Charge phone in work
:heartpuls Paying extra attention to the elec on the smart meter
:heartpuls Heating off until I get in, then not on for long
:heartpuls Put a wash on 30 deg
:heartpuls Walking to and from work (normally OH picks me up on a Tuesday)
:heartpuls Printed out a picture at work
:heartpuls Check what tomorrow's lunch is and see if I need to prep anything
:heartpuls Either reading or a bit of knitting
Have a good one all

Morning all,
Thanks Clf but I was in the 5am club this morning too with acid reflux, my chest feels like someone has punched it, so another day at home pottering is the plan. Oh and I know my lists are long but I'm a stay at home mum and housewife so I've got to keep busy! :rotfl:
Ditty, what bad luck, I hope you're up and running again soon.
Todays list
:grinheart Scrambled eggs on ys toast for the kids breakfasts, quick, easy and a healthy start to the day for them. ✅ :A
:grinheart As I'm staying home, I've made the kids go down for the school bus so no fuel costs today (I usually drive them as I go past the door on the way to the gym) ✅
:grinheart Been round the house switching off all sockets, we always switch off the microwave etc as we all have watches so don't need to see the time on the microwave but I've this morning switched off ds2s alarm clock as it auto resets when powered on again and I've switched off a couple of sockets going to extension leads which have lights on so obviously they're using power even though the computers/printers are powered off. ✅
:grinheart Monthly meter reading have been done this morning, I have a reminder on my phone for the 22nd of every month to submit accurate meter readings as when the energy supplier used to do the occasional estimated reading it was always way off what we actually used. ✅
:grinheart After my current cup of coffee I'll drink a few more cups of the green tea I'm trying to use up, my kitchen use up box is now pretty bare, I have the tea, 3packs of ys bread sauce dry mix and popcorn kernels. Some readers on here may remember back to me having 30+ packets of dried dates in there! How times have changed! ✅ Cup 2 of 3 today and that will leave 3 to finish the box tomorrow - must not get swayed by the flavours again! This is meant to be Cherry Blackwell....hmmm
:grinheart Check banking/update spreadsheet ✅
:grinheart Check tcb to see if anything has moved to payable ✅ A couple of £ available but £12 pending so I'll leave it for now
:grinheart Do YouGov survey, I'm not far off a payout but haven't done any of them for a while
:grinheart Rm survey if any unaddressed mail comes
:grinheart Make families lunches for tomorrow - I could do with bread rolls for dh but don't really want to go to the shop... will maybe make a cold pasta or rice dish for him instead... (have enough wraps for the kids)
:grinheart Make leek and potato soup using the chicken juices from yesterday
:grinheart Drain the chicken stock ✅ , bin the carcass ✅ and [STRIKE]freeze the stock for another day [/STRIKE] no room in the freezer after getting the ys bread in there... will use this stock and make risotto for tea tonight instead
:grinheart Get the carpet stain remover out again, the bits I did yesterday have mostly come up great, just a couple that I either missed or haven't scrubbed enough to do today. ✅
:grinheart Get the duster out again (I did the hallway yesterday then got distracted!;))
:grinheart Sort another cupboard
:grinheart Look at my "annoying list" in my bullet journal to see if there is anything I've done the last few days that I can cross off- you all know how much I like a list
:grinheart See if I can play freezer tetris to get some more of this bread into the freezer to stop me eating it! ✅
That's my starterSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

ditty hope the ankle gets better soon
1LL hope u r feeling better with the acid reflux-there is nothing worse
Paperwork day today
Had a satisfying hour yesterday filling my storage boxes up which have tidied things up. Going to buy 2 more for my link to hope christmas shoebox stash as it is building up and is just being stuck in bags at the minute. I am determined after paying so much out on decorating and continous decluttering that the house will remain tidy and easy for me to keep clean-wishful thinkingi think!!
Will buy boxes on Friday when i get paid.
Banking all checked, everything good.
Popping out this morning to do some post including RM survey.
Want to do some paint touch up later as the wheelchair destroys paintwork as fast as u do it! Was always too nervous to do it as im so clumsy and i was certain i would drop the paint (knowing me on a cat), now im braver!!!!
Have a tidy around
Dishwasher on eco setting in a bit
And more paperworkwith the odd break of watching Midsommer Murders

Morning frugal wannabes:hello:
1LL Ever thought of making bread rolls so on days like this you can just whip up a batch save going to the shop?
My list for today:
Came a different way home from school to get some extra steps in
DW on eco
Meals from stores
Small shop required have started a list, will check cupboards, freezer and meal plan before I go
Take something back for a refund
See if we can do a 'tuck and roll' at the charity shop. I.e. hubby drives, I get out (you can't park outside) and he drives round the block and gets me. Would be a big chunk of stuff gone out of the house
Go to diy shop and look at shelving
Check banking
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Thanks PF, I've made them before and they've been ok on the day made but not nice for the next day. I don't know if it was the recipe or me but I remember dh texting me that he'd gone to the shop and got a meal deal which then ended up being far more expensive then if I'd just gone to the shop and bought some in the first place! (we are going back probably 10yrs here though!)
We're lucky with charity shops here, we have 2 on an industrial estate about 5 mins drive from us so we can park right outside the door and they have a separate door for donations too. We used to have to go into the town centre and could never get parked anywhere near.
Cup of tea time (green of course!) and read this weeks :money: emailSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all
Didn't sleep well, and have a lurking headache this morning. Now sitting with a cup of camomile tea and some paracetamol to try to stave it off. It is also foggy and horrible outside, and I am expecting a parcel, so I am staying in this morning! At least there is no ice today though.
Today's list:
Kitchen clean up as usual (Done)
Put dry washing on airer away (investigate whether any ironing is needed - hope not!)
Lunch will be more of the vast pot of leek and potato soup I made a couple of days ago. Might freeze the rest.
I need to go to the post office to post a RM surveys parcel this afternoon. I will coincide this with taking a box of items to my sales unit, as I haven't managed to get there yet this week.
I have YS meatballs from Waitrose, HM tomato sauce from the freezer and pasta planned for dinner
Really ought to get on and finish moving stuff from this old laptop to the new one. DD2 wants the old one, so she can have it once things are transferred over and I am sure the new one works ok :cool:0 -
Morning all.
Today I have/will:
* Check banks
* Freeze three bananas that were looking overripe (will use for smoothies)
* Use LO chicken to make sandwich to take to work
* Turn microwave off at the wall
* Load of washing on 30 degree eco wash
* Park for free and walk mile or so to work
* Eat OOD cereal and use communal milk at work
* Snaffle free cereal bar at work
* Update spreadsheet
* Go for a run at lunch
* Check OP/PA
* Check TCB to see if anything has become payable (thanks LL!)
* Hang washing on airer
* Climb behind wardrobe in spare room to switch TV off at the wall (very rarely gets watched since lodger left!)
* Dinner from stores
* Also make cottage pie for dinner tomorrow using mince from freezer (took out last night) and some potatoes that are going "sprouty" and some bendy carrots!
* Wash hair and let dry naturally
* Cut top off moistoriser to get end bits out!
That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you all have a good day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Hi thanks for ankle wishes, I'm back on my feet it wasn't a really bad one but I'm taking a few days off running. Today was a breeze of cover work, home early cup of coffee, a bit of forrumming and chatting and a in a bit I'll have a zoom of tidying and later a talk at running club about how to minimise the risk on injury! Haha.
