roundtuit my house is most definitely a work in progress and I have a huge amount of decluttering and sorting to do before it will look better. It's so nice to see parts of it tidy though rather than seeing mess everywhere all the time.

Thank you sexymouse I always think it's just me :o

Round 1 completed + took the duvet I bought DS for Christmas upstairs and stashed in the corner of my bedroom until I get his new bedding washed, then it can all go on his bed; + unpacked another bag of Christmas presents: contents to go upstairs, packaging to be recycled. That's a bit more floor in the living room :T

    Round 2 =
    unload WM
    WUDUPA pans
    WUDUPA baking trays
    coffee

Not going to wash the new bedding today as rain is forecast for this afternoon - tomorrow looks like being the day for getting it done :D

Last bag of Christmas 2019 presents unpacked - contents to go upstairs, packaging to be recycled.

That just leaves one bag from Christmas 2018 and one from Christmas 2017 to be sorted. They will be done today :D

    Well done roundtuit.

1 load of washing in the washing machine, and 1 in the tumble dryer.

I've also hoovered off as much mud as I can off DS1's waterproofs which he'll need for forest school on Friday - will wipe them down with a wet cloth later.

Eaten up lots of the kids leftovers from the fridge (interesting wrap consumed) - no wonder I'm not losing any weight, so that I can access the shelves better to clean them all.

Need to go out and do the food shop now that DH is finally home, but need to look quickly online to see where the offers are (DS2 has multiple food allergies so food shopping can be expensive when buying free from alternatives).

Cutlery drawer has been cleaned out and dishwasher emptied, with a little help from DS2. Worktop cleaned down after lunch.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Afternoon all

Hugs YL. Fingers crossed that the blood transfusion does it thing and shoots that red count back up for your DS.

The utility room looks like Widow Twanky’s house.
The guest / chill/ craft room has been put back to sanity ( see what I did there - trying not to keep calling it the RoD. I have other rooms now more deserving of that title).
The bathroom has been cleaned and the en-suite has had a s&s.
Soup made from a couple of suspect squash from the summer. The jury is out on the success of that particular soup.
    DW running.
We are waiting for my DSis and BiL to turn up - often a bit of a stressful visitation that leaves me feeling inadequate. We will see.
More freezer goodies out for this evening. Surely there must be space by now.

  • Hi all

Great progress with the flying Roundtuit and Sexymouse, and thanks for the kind words and hugs everyone, it really really does help.

Nice lunch out but came back to a letter from hospital that was stuck in the post box confirming that DSs last scan showed "extensive disease in his bone marrow and hepatic system" - I knew that, but I didnt want to see it written down in black and white!

So, fire lit, feet up, just putting together a budget for Feb, mealplanning and generally getting myself mentally organised for next week.

R you have reminded me that I now have a spare duvet and pillows as DS1 has moved back home, and I have nowhere to put them. They are currently dumped on DS2s bed. I either get one of those vacuum storage bags and put them in the loft for now or get rid of them before DS2 comes home for a visit and needs his bed!

Well, I really don't even have a clue what day of the week it is, how long I may have slept or even when. Much of the last two days have been spent sorting the drawers in the OCP (Office/craft/play) room, along with lots of time spent on the PC plowing through job alerts that don't match your search criteria. I had 2 positive calls in the last couple of days. One for a roll that is a grade lower than I was redundant from and temporary, and another in a manufacturing environment which is the same grade and naturally more money and permanent. I know which I would prefer (should I be offered either) and it wouldn't be the latter option. Is that sensible?

Anyway, flying has been minimal other than S/S of Bathroom and Kitchen but plugging away with the decluttering and sorting which eventually will have some benefits. Finances have been done and took ages as I couldn't account for the best part of £100 then realised I had left a receipt and some change in the car and there was another pot hiding at the back of the drawer, phew.

Pigpen, your Dot does sound like a character bless her and I'm pleased you are getting what you need for her. It's hard when you are struggling financially, I've been there before and worried about going forward. I know whilst I am ok at the moment because I have my redundancy, if I am still out of work in a few months there will be no more Jobseekers and I will not be eligible for any UC even with nothing left in the bank. DH is only on his pension and has no savings either. I wish I could knit to make things for my Grandbaby, I only craft stuff so he will be having lots of personalised bits and pieces :D

YorkshireLass, It sounds great that you have been able to have some time at home with DS. I hope that he doesn't have to go back into hospital although if he does it must be what he needs and I hope any treatment goes well. Oh just seen your last post. It is hard to stay positive when you know things will be rough for a while and however old they are, they will always be your babies. Sending big hugs xx

Fayolle, please don't let family make you feel inadequate. Life is hard enough with toxic relatives. I have real trouble with my older brother and I have found the best way to deal with him is to avoid him. He treated me like poo in the past and I challenged him on it, to which he said he knew he had upset me but refused to apologise as it was in the past. That isn't how it works mate! He treats my mum like poo too and my dad like a king. Aargh he winds me up the way he uses my dad. A single bloke in his 50's with no responsibility should not be borrowing money off my 80 year old dad when he has to take time off sick despite having worked all his life in a decent job! Sorry rant over, anyway I avoid him now.

Sexymouse, the free-from stuff is horrendously priced isn't it? I have to buy GF and it gets me so much I avoid it most of the time. I used to get essentials on prescription (still had to pay for those) but my health authority stopped it as stuff became more freely available (not affordable )

Anyway, this isn't getting anything done. Have got lamb steaks out defrosting for dinner as I wasn't prepared to pay pounds for a squitty piece of beef in town yesterday despite being a traditional Sunday Roast person. That means instead of eating up the leftovers in the week we will be decluttering more stiff from the freezers.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

My little bunny hutch to provide shelter in the run has been delivered, so I will be able to put the rabbits in the run all day now, as they have shelter. Stupidly excited as I have downloaded the (company name -= river;)) app and I could 'watch' it arriving! DD (who is recovering from a scalded foot and a cold) helped me build it. DD has set off home now.

Made a sunday dinner with HM sponge pudding (stupidly easy in microwave) for dessert.

    Have ironed, too

    Evening all

List for today accomplished, also spent a nice relaxed hour or so with my book. DH has the ironing to do this evening, I’m just going to do supper and then reset the kitchen.

See you all on the new thread x
