The NEWBIES thread answers your query about debt collectors, in the 4th post of it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There is nothing more to be done now.

Post again on this thread if ever you receive either a Letter of Claim or official court correspondence and if, after having re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES thread, you still need help.

Oh, and by the way, you do not owe £170. You owe nothing until a Judge says otherwise.
  • Hi Keith
Is the letter from debt recovery not a letter of claim ?

    Hi Keith

Read again post #4 of the NEWBIES thread.

It offers good guidance on how to deal with debt collectors letters.

And while you are at it, read again post #14 on this thread - written by Redx on your very own thread just two days ago.

Because you posted in the newbies thread which should not have happened , As well as another person , I took the trouble to find your thread and gave you specific and unequivocal instructions about ignoring debt collectors and their letters

You seem to be ignoring that advice and I am extremely disappointed by that

If you ask for advice , read it and follow it

Nobody on here is interested in debt collector posts , from you or anyone else , because it distracts us from helping people who need immediate help or advice

When you need help and advice , it will be given , but not at this interim stage

Pay up , in full , OR , wait for a court claim pack from the CCBC in Northampton then and only then , post back on this thread

Hint , it won't come from any debt collector

Ps , if the initial alleged debt was £100 , it stays at £100 , it never goes any higher than £100

When did you send that? What do you mean by 'message'? Fully detailed, well written letter via Royal Mail, or email, or SMS 'OK, m8, gotta prob' stylee?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • .Thankyou you all for your advice , I have read the threads and have taken noticed, they are very hard going to read and am sure i am not the first to say that ..... i posted by accident on the first thread as i didn't know how the page worked so apologies for my ignorance. Somewhat disappointed with the above comments , i don't wish to waste anybodies time so i won't post anymore.
