Hi All
Here is my predicament ...
Driver ( myself ) received a parking charge from a retail parking company in Liverpool ( Park Watch ) saying that driver had parked over the white lines in the parking bay ( not parked wholly within bay ) ... driver had done this as it was an end parking spot and the car that was parked to my right had parked right on the white line ,so to be able to get out of the car driver had to park over the white line on their left. Driver when in to shop for around 20 mins and then returned to my car. driver received a letter with a picture showing drivers car outside the lines and a fine of £60 if it was paid immediately. otherwise it would be £100. Driver ignored this letter as had nowhere else to park ! Driver received a further letter about 2 weeks later and again ignored it , was given advise by friends to do so and not to acknowledge the letter as they aren't legal. Driver has now received a letter from a debt recovery company demanding alot more than the original fee !! have seen posts about appealing but i didn't do this , thought by ignoring the letters it may go away , my case seems different to those who got fined for staying over the 3 hours ..... Can anyone please help driver have not yet contacted the parking people or the debt collectors , don't know what to do and cannot afford to pay the fine
After reading forum have sent an email to Curry to complain but have not done anything else waiting for advise from here , what do i need to do now , i have gone over the time to appeal
Email now sent to my MP

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Edit or delete your other posts if you haven't already.
Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper.
It is not a fine.
What happened when you complained to the landowner/manager?
Have you sent the appeal template yet having read the NEWBIES as already advised?
Do complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
As above, no i did/she did he did this or that.
The only I should be the person who received the parking charge notice.
This is an open forum, we need some information to help you, but at the same time you must ( in most cases) never give any hints as to the identity of the driver at the early stages.
The only info needed is:
name of parking company
reason for ticket, parked not fully in a bay/car tyre valves not at 12 o'clock position on drivers side/ car is magenta and was parked in a bay for red cars and so on.
The name/location of retail park, some places are hotspots, some are well known on here etc
And it would also help if you said where you heard the advice to ignore as these arent legalFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
From what you have told us, if they took this to court they might very well struggle, many judges regard this type of claim as a trifle, a waste of court time, read this

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Hi
Sorry , i am new on here not sure what to do , i haven't appealed , ignored the letters , i have only just emailed the retail store today after reading the information on here .0 -
Name of parking company - Park watch
Fined for not parked wholly within bay

New to this sorry0 -
First page of the forum, third thread down, cunningly marked NEWBIE read this first. Sometimes though, you cannot see it if using the forum on a phone.0

hi
just read the newbies obvs when you point it out , can't find my situation on there they seem to be parked to long and the appeal letters are the same ???0 -
You didn't read it properly then
Read the part that says forget about what happened or your situation etc
If you are the registered keeper , appeal as keeper using the blue text template from the newbies faq sticky thread near the top of the forum , the same as everyone else is told except for hire , lease or company vehicles0 -
Ok i will send an email with the template , do i need to contact the debt company ? never been in this situation before excuse my ignorance , horrified at the thought of being taken to court .
I am not a stupid person but some of this is very hard to understand and follow , so i have contacted my Local MP , sent an email to land owner ( can't get to speak to them by telephone ) and have sent my appeal letter ... what now ?0 -
I have only just found this web site , i have now appealed using the template sent a letter to my MP and contacted the land owner , do i ignore the debt recovery letter or contact them ???? , i really don't know what am doing never been in this position before , your advise is really appreciated i have pent the last few hours trawling through many many threads. I still feel lost and am overwhelmed by all the defences I have read, which make no sense to me at all.0
