£96 on the cat 😑😑 steroids plus abx for his scabbiness being infected. Marvellous.
MOT booked in for Thursday morning. Will def need new back tyres.
Fleabay parcel packed up ready for posting this aft.
Migraine. Managed to take painkillers early enough to stave off the worst of the pain but still got light and sound sensitivity and horrible stiff neck and shoulders. Have eaten; thankfully mine don't make me nauseous. May need to pop into Tesc0 on the way home to pick up something super easy for tea - definitely not feeling up to cooking 😫

Thanks CR. This week has been really hard - felt very depressed, lethargic, lack of motivation etc.
Car MOT yesterday was not as I expected. Several advisories, most of which were not surprising. But it failed on a headlight not working (wiring issue, not bulb) and a light on the dash that won't go off. The car is now booked in at an auto electrician to get those fixed tomorrow. No tyres needed (huge backstory there but will tell that later).
Discovered where the delay is wrt Manwife's new job - apparently an email has been sent to someone who is on long term sick leave. Obviously they haven't replied to it, so everything has stopped. Someone is trying to unstick it, so hopefully there will be movement soon.
I have an interview with a potential client next weekend.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Nearly 2 weeks since I last posted and oof. I really hate winter, and it is absolutely kicking my ar$ə this year. I feel dreadful, and I'm really struggling to keep my head above water. We had takeaway twice in the last month, and we usually only have takeaway every 2-3 months.
Made an OP of £4.something this morning which was nice. OP total currently £535.85. That came from two ebay sales. Funds from a clothing sale went in the clothing acc. New coat for Small Small which she has mixed feelings about (she really liked her old coat) but until she stops growing there's not much I can do about that!
Presents are almost all bought? One is going to be massively late as it's coming from the US and hasn't even shipped yet even though I bought it in November 😑 we have a vague plan of seeing my family, but no decisions yet on what kind of "seeing" that might be. Possibly we will drive over and have a catch up and a brew in their garden. There's not loads of infections in our area, but some is still higher than none. I suspect we will leave it until the middle of next week before we make any firm decisions. One of my besties recently spent a week in hospital with not a good prognosis. She is thankfully home now, but her chances were about 30-40% when she was admitted and it was definitely touch and go. She's only 6mos older than I am 😭
Our CC tickover has happened, and I've sorted out the money shuffle. As it stands, we will not end the month overdrawn, but it'll be close. No word yet on the job front, although he has been to pick up the hardware he needs for WFH, which has to be a good sign? As far as we know, payday will shift to the first of the month, so we will have to move almost all of our DDs and SOs.
Finally, the car. It turned out to be a bulb, probably. There was an awful lot of phaffing, testing wiring, shaking the headlight, driving the car around to see what would happen. By the end of it it had had a new bulb and various wires and contacts cleaned, and now works again, but they're not sure what the root of the issue was. The second thing we had to do was locate a scrapped car the same version as ours and buy the driver's seat so it could be put into our car (the wiring for the airbag wasn't working - hence the warning light). All told though, everything only came to £100 on top of the MOT cost, which is much less than I thought I'd be spending, so overall I'm happy. I'm gonna take it back in the new year for some of the more minor issues to be dealt with.
Hope everyone is keeping safe and wellRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Hope everyone is well and has had a nice festive period! Everything here has been very low key and therefore stress free. Didn't see my parents other than to swap presents. My sister popped round by herself and we played a couple of board games.
The money shuffle is all done and we will finish the month with about £250 in the joint account after a small TT. That's better than I anticipated, so I'm happy.
We have bought a new vacuum cleaner in the post-Christmas sales. We've been planning to do this since about August, and we will be passing our current one on to BIL as he has a much smaller living space than we do so hopefully it will cope better with lower expectations. The money for this will come from the house account.
Both the roof and the patio door are leaking again. This is mightily frustrating, especially for Medium Small as it's his bedroom that keeps getting wet.
Work visit this evening with a client.
Still not much to update on the job front. Manwife currently taking some of his AL that he had built up.
Oops, forgot to add that I made a 95p overpayment this morning from an ebay sale. Will update OP balance after the TT on the 4th.

Well. 2021! Happy new year everyone, I think?
How did you all spend the evening? It was, unsurprisingly, low key here - just watched some telly and then watched the fireworks at midnight. There were a lot more than normal, presumably people keeping their spirits up and not having any planned large displays to go to. Pretty sure it will have looked amazing for those on hillsides round the city.
I had planned to give blood yesterday, but was turned away due to my iron count being too low [it has to be 125 or above to donate; mine was 124 *eyeroll* so now I have to wait three months before I can go back]. I considered the trip a waste until I ran into a homeless bloke and when he asked if I could spare any change discovered I had left my purse at home but had a tenner in the bottom of my bag so I gave him that and he almost burst into tears. And then I walked a bit further along and came across another fella who had had his shoes pinched and I was kicking myself for leaving my purse at home, otherwise I'd have bought him a new pair of shoes. Who tf steals a homeless person's shoes, for crying out loud? Some people have no shame. Anyway I sat and chatted with him for a bit before coming back home.
We don't send Christmas cards, we never have, but we do donate to charity instead. One of my Personal Rules is "if you can afford to save, you can afford to donate". I think I am going to make one of my new year goals something around donating regularly to one of the local homeless charities.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

First OP of the year has been made! Teeny bit early, wasn't planning on making it until the 4th but I'm impatient, so I've TT £19.35 into an OP and that will round us off at £250 in the joint account after the last DD goes out on Monday. It also means I can update my new signature, and put on my current MFW goal for this year, which I've set at £650. No idea whether it will stay at £650, considering all the imminent job changing and hopefully roof work that we need doing, but we shall see.
The beginning of the next page needs to be an official diary update; been a while.

Happy New Year!
We spent it in the company of Jools H, before letting the old year out and the new one in.
I'm glad the tenner found it's rightful home, it had obviously been biding its time.
