I was just catching up on life admin this morning and I was just thinking, despite my credit report looking terrible, my salary is 25% less than it should be and lots of uncertainty ahead, I feel like financially I am in the best position I have been for years. I know none of that makes sense, but I guess it's more to do with my mental state, and actually dealing with the debt instead of running around in circles with it.
I know I have a long way to go, and the amount I owe is still way above the UK average (excluding mortgages) but by finally tackling my debt whilst building my savings (and paying off my family) I do feel like I am finally building a positive relationship with money.
Now to carry on with today's chores!  :D

Thank you! I promise you I'm not always positive, but I've been on a real journey with all of this and it really helps me move forward by focusing on the good :)

I've had a tough week last week. Nothing in particular happened, but just felt in a real slump of demotivation and unhappiness. I am sure it's just a consequence of the situation we're all in. I've always had moments of a sort of depression to varying degrees throughout my adult life and teenage years and whilst it has been a very long time since I was very poorly with my mental health, I do think being alone so much these past few months have taken its toll. Strangely, when I am like this instead of wanting to see people, I revert to feeling like I want to be alone. Doesn't really make sense I know!
Anyway, I made a point of being kind to myself yesterday, organised my flat a bit, had a bath and watched the F1 which really helped. Just need to take each day at a time I think.

A good news day for me as I my DMP payment cleared meaning I've hit 40% paid off and gone sub £30k total debt for the first time in years. I know it's still a huge chunk of money, but given where I was just 12 months ago, it feels good.  :)

Thank you! It's a good feeling :) Just to be clear I haven't paid off 40% in a year but it's been a year since my DMP started and it's made such a huge difference! :)

Ugh! Had a real plonker moment and somehow deleted my spreadsheet that contains my monthly budget and my debt tracker. I'd got it into the perfect (for me) place where I could track and update everything I needed. I even deleted my deleted items so no hope of recovery. 🤦🏻‍♀️
