  • Really struggling with motivation at the moment - but in a weird way! I am being really productive in some ways, but things like exercise or even going to do a food shop feels like a mammoth task. I used to walk every day in the last lockdown and loved it but now I find it really hard to want to leave the house.
I think I've been in a very similar routine now and even when the restrictions were lighter, I didn't do all that much. I've been working from home since 17th March too so I've been doing the same thing pretty much every day for months.
Hopefully it's just a blip and I'll find some motivation soon!

  • Hi @pencakes26 just read your diary and wanted to say, great work on the payments, you're really working getting through them. Pay cut isn't making it easy but you're putting your future self intonation better place by tackling this. Best of luck with it all!
Current mortgage (1 Jun 2022): £289,501 - originally £351,999 got to love London sized mortgages!
    OP Goal 2022 = 3.75% in OPs: £6,975 / £13,200
Emergency Fund Target: 3 months saved ✅

Thanks for your comment, it's much appreciated. Sometimes little reminders of where all of this will take me helps. I will get there! 🤞

  • Work is getting painful at the moment  :s You know when you get the feeling that despite everything you do or have done, your employers couldn't care one bit. It's such a sad and demotivating place to be in.
Trying hard to keep my head down but today has been a tough one. Trying to comfort myself with tea and biscuits and will have a bath later. Self care seems like such a cliche but it's so necessary at the moment isn't it?

  • Tea, tea and more tea. Lockdown v2 has begun and I'm drinking the UK out of tea 😂

I bought my first xmas present today! It's a cheesy xmas jumper for the OH so a bit frivolous but I know he'll love it. Need to think about the rest now and work out a proper list. Like most, I won't be spending a great deal this year, but I do want to get a few little things for my family.

Thank you :) I wish it was gone already but I am pleased with where I've got with it so far. In all my years of being in various amounts of debt, I have never been this committed and this 'successful' at paying off so much. 🤞
I think I might need to buy some more teabags though!! 😂

  • I've been meaning to update my diary all morning but somehow it's already 1pm! Where has this morning gone?!

There's one thing I've learnt in lockdown - I am totally a creature of habit, especially when it comes to my morning routine. Get up, check the news, make tea, check bank balance and update budget spreadsheet, check work emails, more tea, prolific... I do this pretty much every single weekday!

My DMP payment has cleared today so I've updated my sig (£18.7k DMP, £7.3k family loan) 🎉 I'm inching ever closer to the 50% paid mark. I'm now 23 months away from my DFD, which I need to keep hacking at if I want to bring it closer. Hopefully a return to full pay will help me do that 🤞

It's very cold today so socks, vest, top and jumper are required (my heating is very expensive so don't use it too much) but at least it's Friday!
