  • That is what it's for. Hope the brakes don't cost too much. I had mine done recently and was £170 so not as bad as I thought. Fingers crossed for you
Thank you! I've never had savings before this year and I remember the days where costs like this would have sent me in a blind panic. It's such a different feeling now. It'll be a tight month but I know I can manage it.

My payment has cleared so drum roll please! My DMP is now sub £20k! 🎉🎉
I know I still owe more than most, but having started my DMP 15 months ago at almost £32k, I feel like I've reached an important milestone in my journey to being debt free.

  • I don't post on here half as often as I should so I think I'm going to. It always helps. I read through some of the Debt Free Roll of Honour yesterday and it's so inspiring and encouraging.
It's made me realise I've probably been in debt for maybe 11/12 years and given the fact I'm only 34 that's not ideal. But, all being well I'll be 36 and debt free and maybe even a homeowner at 40. We'll see! 🤞🤞
Slow morning work-wise so I put a bunch of stuff on eBay, did a couple of surveys and then went to the tip. Nice to be productive. Now back to my actual day job 😂

  • Another Monday, another day of working from home. 30 weeks has now gone by since this whole thing started, which seems so unbelievable when I think back to the beginning of the year. Thank god I don't mind my own company otherwise living on my own and having so little contact with people would drive me mad! That being said, I haven't enjoyed it a whole lot, but I am SO grateful for my home right now.

I still have a job, even though the sporting world continues to have an uncertain future. Fans are pivotal to us and it seems like a long way off before we can even consider seeing full grandstands again. I have thought about taking on some part time work to supplement my reduced salary as I noticed some shops are now looking for seasonal staff. I guess I won't be the only one having that thought!!

On to DF stuff, pay day is next Monday so I have a week of frugality ahead of me (all budgeted, but the MOT etc made this month much tighter than normal). I have plans on Saturday night but hopefully will be able to keep those costs down, and nothing else planned for the week so apart from the odd small food top up, I should be fine.  :)

Now to put some socks on because it's freeeezing!!

Monday has come around once again!

I was really poorly last week - temperature, sore throat, blocked ears and totally exhausted. Spent Tuesday and Wednesday stuck in bed. I didn't think it was COVID but because of the temperature I ordered an at home test which I did on Friday and got the results back via text last night. Thankfully negative but I was impressed at how quick it was to get my results, even over a weekend.

The morning so far as been a mix of emails and washing, and paying my step dad another loan payment. Been selling a few little bits here and there on eBay so have a post office trip at lunch and then off to do a big shop tonight. Fun times!  :D

  • I am 100% a creature of habit! It seems like every Monday at about 10am I sit down to update my DFD and check out the forum. I keep saying I should update my diary more, but I do like the feeling of checking in every week.

I'm sure like a lot of you, the recent news hasn't been well received, but I am trying my best to remain positive. I'm also trying to look at this month as a way of keeping the spend down as much as pos - all my bills are accounted for so all I need to spend is food money for the rest of the month. 🤞

My pay is still at 75% but again, I am trying to keep positive that I do still have a job. However it does mean I am planning a very simple Christmas this year as I won't have much spare cash and I have other priorities like my debt payments and building up my savings again (car issues took a hit on previous funds!).

My DMP payment went out this morning but usually takes a few days to clear so I'll wait before updating my signature. I am looking forward to 2021 for obvious reasons, but also because I can say "I'll be debt free next year!" Small wins 😉

Thank you! Sometimes I get a bit impatient that it's not all gone already but then I have to remind myself how far I've come.
