They didn't tell you how much coffee you'd drink when you WFH!
I have tried to clean and tidy and create a nice environment to work in whilst I'm at home, but I can't help but look out of my window and wonder what's happening in the world outside.
A guy came round yesterday to fit my smart meter, and he was quite flippant about the whole thing, which I guess is his right, but I feel super worried. Not about getting ill, but about the knock on effect it'll have on everything - my parents are at risk, my job is looking very wobbly and don't even get my started on rent/debt/all things ££.
I know I am lucky, and things could be worse. But the worry is starting to get to me.Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom1 -
Blue skies and a better night's sleep seem to have boosted my mood today. I'm off for a walk before I start work for the day, really need sone fresh air!
I'm really trying to break through the worry and take each day as it comes. Easier said than done of course, but I need to find a way otherwise I'll be on a slippery slope.Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom1 -
Another day, another change to lives as we know it. I'll be honest, I had a little cry at last night's announcement. Don't get me wrong, I think it's the right thing to do, and I will 100% abide by the new rules, but it did worry me. I've mentioned it before but I live on my own and the thought of having no contact with the outside world is daunting.
I'm so grateful I'm healthy and I have a roof over my head, and I have ways of virtually connecting with people. I just need to do everything to keep my mental health in check 🤞Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom3 -

I feel your struggle! Have you been video calling people so that you are speaking to someone face-face albeit virtually?
I think this forum is going to be invaluable over the coming weeks for us all to interact with each other that doesn't involve work.
I am going to use this time to learn something new. I haven't chosen exactly what yet, I have a guitar upstairs that I bought a few years ago but never got around to actually learning to play.
I will subscribe to your diary so we can keep chattingstay safe.

I work in digital so I've been thinking about learning how to code which I find interesting and potentially useful career-wise.

A Saturday night here that doesn't feel like one. And I'm running out of wine!
I'm sure like many people, I'm going through so many emotional ups and downs, and as much as I try to keep my chin up, I'm finding it increasingly hard. I'm so grateful for everything I have and I know things could be worse, but I am so full of worry.

As of 1st April I've been handed a 25% paycut. I am very grateful to keep my job, but it's a big chunk gone. After a morning of upset, I decided to be proactive. StepChange have been helpful and have helped me reduce my DMP payment by 25% too. I've done the same with my repayment to my family too - but I can reduce that to zero if things get worse.
Obviously things could change again, but hopefully I can weather this part of the storm. 🤞Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -
I'm sorry to hear about your pay cut. It's terrible for so many people. The good news is that you've adjusted your DMP accordingly and are keeping positive about it. One day at a time!0
