Sorry to hear that @pencakes26! You're right though that lots of people are going to be in the same boat this year 😕. I had it last week and felt pretty ropey. Glad to hear you're on the mend. Make sure you pop into the forum to say hi on CD, you're not really alone x

@pencakes26 keep on getting better! So sorry to hear this but better times are in sight, no? Do you have food and some treats in? Agree with @elbree, you're not alone; you have a posse of devoted admirers here.  2022 will see some big steps forward.  Love Humdinger xx
  • Thank you for the lovely messages. I heard the news this morning about the change in isolation rules so hopefully I’ll be out for Christmas Day if I do two negative tests. Here’s hoping 🤞

  • No early release for me unfortunately- still testing positive. Hopefully I’ll still get a chance to be ‘free’ for Christmas if tomorrow’s test is negative. 🤞🤞

@pencakes26 You shouldn't be doing LFTs after covid. You can test positive for ages......

Department of Health & Social Care
This announcement provides policy updates for adult care homes in
England, outlining changes to the 90 retesting day guidance for PCR
and LFD and testing in the event of a confirmed / suspected outbreak.
Testing within 90 days of a positive PCR test
Following a substantial clinical review of the latest evidence and
testing data, we are now changing the advice for retesting within 90
days of a positive. From now on, if someone tests positive with a PCR
test, they should not be tested using PCR or LFD for 90 days, unless
they develop new symptoms during this time, in which case they
should be retested immediately using PCR. This 90 day period is from
the initial onset of symptoms or, if asymptomatic when tested, their
    positive test result.

    Also

Not testing within 90 days of a positive COVID-19 test will avoid unnecessary isolation. It is possible for PCR tests to remain positive for some time after COVID-19 infection as the test can pick up inactive viral fragments (which are not infectious).

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the message, but I was referring to the new advice on self-isolation and being able to leave after 7 days. It was announced yesterday.

Either way, it would be nice not to spend Christmas Day alone, but if I have to, I have to. 👍

Just popping on to say hi to everyone. Been back at work for a week already and it was a bit of a shock to the system if I'm honest!  :D

Christmas was spent in isolation but managed to get out from 27th and saw family and friends so it wasn't a complete write off.

Just updated my signature for this month too which is nice, just over 7.5k left to pay off now.
