Can I join in too please? Trying to read more in an attempt to spend less time on social media. In an attempt to save money I rediscovered the library and their handy BorrowBox app.
I’ve just finished “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens which I really enjoyed.
This year I’ve also read “The Hunting Party” by Lucy Foley - I read this within a couple of days (unusual for me!) - strange as I didn’t really warm to any of the characters but maybe that’s part of the appeal!
I’ve also read ‘Blood Orange’ by Harriet Tyce, found it a bit of an uncomfortable read in parts and quite dark but it had some good twists to keep you reading.
I’m just starting ‘The Silent Patient’ by Alex Michaelides - it’s had some good reviews.
I always have an audiobook on the go too for when I’m driving, walking the dogs, mucking out the ponies, housework, running etc. Just finished ‘The Familiars’ by Stacey Halls, loosely based on the Pendle witch trials. Wasn’t sure if I’d like this at first as I’ve not really read historical fiction before but I really liked it and lost myself in it it. I’ll definetly look out for more by the same author.
Im currently listening to “Big, Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty. Took me a while to get into it but really enjoying it now - 2 hours of listening to go!
Looking forward to getting lots more inspiration for my to be read list

I have finished A Meal in Winter, it is about three German soldiers sent into the Polish countryside to search out Jews, they find a young man to take back with them but have to hole up in an abandoned farmhouse and make a meal. Can you really say you enjoy a book on this subject matter?I have moved on to 'The Way Home - Tales From a Life Without Technology by Mark Boyle.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

7. Neris and India's Idiot-Proof Diet by India Knight and Neris Thomas. I already eat low-carb so I didn't learn much from this one, although it was easy to read. They kept stressing how important it was not to skip meals, which is a little dated now that intermittent fasting is fashionable.

Loving the "Dramas" and audio books on BBC Sounds (free app) and so wish I'd found it earlier - am loving it at the gym instead of music all the time.
Popped to the library today and returned one and collected 4, current read is "Never Be Broken" by Sarah Hilary.

I recently finished Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris. It was so good, that as soon as I finished it I read it again..
All of her books are brilliant, The Lollipop Shoes (follow on to Chocolat) was equally as good.

I like the sound of The Holiday - thanks for the recommendation gettingthere!
UKSBD have you read The Five Quarters of the Orange, also by Harris? It's amazing!
I've finished this month's book - Five Dead Canaries by Edward Marston. It was an enjoyable read and I didn't guess the killer until quite late on! . I'm sad now as I have to knuckle down and study for the rest of the month!6 -
