Finished The Kingdom in a couple of days (which is an achievement for a 600 page book!) Really loved it; follows two brothers in a little village in Norway, one moves to America as a teenager and then returns home with big plans but you find out that both brothers have a lot of secrets, especially after their parents died when they were young. Loved the way it drip fed little nuggets of info throughout so you didn't get the whole story until the end.
Now on to The Boys in the Boat which is about the American rowing team going to the Berlin Olympics in 1936. My mum passed it on to me and it's not something I would usually have picked up but it's actually quite interesting, if a little slow to get into.
Hope the library aren't fining you for keeping a book that long @gettingtheresometime! Ours just kept auto renewing for months which was helpful. Need to actually pop into my library this weekend; they upgraded their computer system a few weeks ago and it appears that my reservations have disappeared but the fees for the reservations are still there. What's even more confusing is that it appears those particular books have been removed from the catalogue all together 🤔
