Could you please help. I am trying to find a book for a friend, She thinks it was written by lady called Rachel who was married to a policeman and they had maybe 6 children between them. The book may be written like a diary about her everyday life. Hope someone can help Thanks
@zenobia had a quick google and it might be this one but can't guarantee it's the same one.

Finished The Anthropocene Reviewed and loved it.  Have also finished my re-read of The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman and have now moved on to The Amber Spyglass.  Only have 25 books left to read on my pile and really want to get through them all by the end of the year but not sure if that's going to be possible - there are some really chunky books there!

I had about 150 at the start of the pandemic last year and have slowly worked my way through them - I try to only buy books by authors I love / ones I think I'll want to read again, and get everything else from the library.  I also set aside 30 minutes a day to read where I can so it's a habit and a break from screens!

Very disciplined ruby_eskimo. Like Abbafan @e App. This has rebooted my practice and I just know this will help me break things down into smaller, achievable tasks when establishing good habits. I will set myself a task to tot up what I have!

I've read good things about books by Amanda Prowse.  I may read that one, thank you.

Finished "Never Greener" today and I did enjoy it.  I thought the ending was a little abrupt though!

@ruby_eskimo I think I will have to be more disciplined with my books.  I used to have Amazon Prime until recently and I know you get 1 or 2 free first reads a month.  I would quite often download one of those, because I felt obliged to.  But I think I will have to stop downloading books for the sake of it, as my reading list is not going to get any smaller!

Just need to decide what to read next.  Might try Amanda Prowse.  I also like Tracy Bloom's "No-one ever has sex...." series.  I haven't read all of them, but they do run in order, so am thinking about revisiting them.

@Abbafan1972 I also fell victim to the Amazon first reads, but after cancelling Prime, I managed to work my way through the books by reading them on my phone - every time I felt the urge to scroll through social media, I'd go tot he Kindle app instead and just carry on reading one of them.  Don't think there were any I'd particularly recommend but it made me make a habit out of reading a bit more.

Since the last update I've finished The Amber Spyglass and also The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory.  Not as good as the previous ones in the series I thought but still eager to carry on with them.  Will have to wait until I've got through the rest of the pile though.  Now on to The Kingdom by Jo Nesbo, one of my favourite authors and his latest book that I picked up last year.  Was very lucky to get a signed copy and also to join him on a zoom call on publication day for a Q&A, just can't believe it's taken me this long to get to it.

Didn't start American Dirt after....but have just finished The Memory Wood by Sam Lloyd. It tells the story of Elissa, a chess prodigy, who's been kidnapped & Elijah who just might save her...if she can persuade him to. I felt it took a little while to get going but i certainly didn't see the twist!

I'm going to try & finish '12 Rules for life' by Jordan Peterson - I seem to have had it from the library since the start of the pandemic so they might be wondering what I've done with it if I don't return it soon!
