For those struggling, crypto.com has just launched their debit card in Europe. It's like Monzo / Revolut, except comes with 3% cashback (depending on tier - 1.5 - 5% back), and free access to lounges / netflix / spotify etc. Shout out if you want a referral!
I'm not putting up with crappy limits on aqua cards or capital one (which i have), or having to use multiple cards with crappy limits.
But you need a 500MCO (£1700) stake for those benefits on that card.0 -

True. There's a free option, too without those perks - but you still get twice the cashback on the free option versus Tandem.5.41 kWp System, E-W. Installed Nov 2017
Lux + 3 x US2000B + 2 x US3000C battery storage. Installed Mar 2020.0 -
I got the aqua card and frankly its pretty rubbish so i dont know how i am going to use this when i travel. I got a limit of under a grand despite having great credit, made two transactions, and just paid them off and its still not appearing my amount that i have as "available spend". This is key for when im using a card abroad especially one with such an high APR.
I might stick to my santander card for overseas and just be safe in the knowledge that at least i am going to get no cashback.
I am mad at tandem for doing this and basically ruining the card as i loved having it0 -

How did you pay it off? I pay mine with a bank transfer and it updates the available spend almost straight away.0 -
I would suggest that most of the people that signed up for the Tandem Cashback card are quite savvy about their money and have embraced the technology the Tandem product has brought to the market. The type of customers a company wants not to discard.
Tandem has a customer base apparently of around 500,000 cardholder. I do not know how the split is between the Cashback and the Journey card. If it is a 50/50 split then that is 250,000 with the Cashback card that will leave.
To use the cashback card to its maximum that means paying off the credit card every month so as not to incur interest charges on the account. If I am typical, the credit limit was substantially below the credit limits I have on other cards.
The offer to current 250000 cashback users of ‘Membership’ at £6 a month should incentivise the current user base to become a member with tangible benefits not disincentive.
The cashback has averaged about £2.50 a month for a year of usage for me but it I ‘join’ as a member this actually make me poorer for joining. There is no option to move to the Journey card that I may have considered.
The instant notifications is something that I will miss but with I would suggest the majority I am now looking for an alternative credit card If I were looking for a credit card now I would not even look at this card so I am another disgruntled card holder that with let the card lapse on 9th March.0 -

.
This was my opinion too - Tandem gave me a £3,000 limit, vs MBNA at £23,000 and BA Amex at £49,700 (this one did start at £6,100 originally though)0 -
One nice feature of Tandem (and JaJa and Tymit) is the instant notification which is lacking from a lot of the existing cards. I tend to use a rewards card when in the UK, but a fintech card when abroad, as I like the instant notifications to confirm how much I've been charged.0

I wonder if it is a 50/50 split. The journey card seems to be just the same as the cashback card except for the cashback, APR rate and credit limit. I don't see why anyone with a good credit score and a credit history would have applied for the journey card over the cashback card. On the other hand those with a poor credit rating might find the Tandem journey card a better option than alternatives.0 -
A little feedback on the Aqua Reward card application for those thinking of applying for the card. From being approved (instant online application) to receiving it took 1 week for the the card to arrive, card received is a contactless card.
App does not give instant notification like Tandem, however if you log into the app or their website transactions are shown pretty much instantly.
You can set-up your Aqua card to send you a text message after every transaction, so effectively the same as the Tandem notification.0 -

Can you?
The app interface and website interface both seem to offer this but it is based on 'transactions over' a limit you specify.
I've tried £1, £10, £100 etc and the system won't save the request - I click save and it reverts to 'No alert'.
I assume it's either broken or the transaction value isn't high enough.0
