450 with vaping nappies is about right i think
It isn't. you say you only spend £10 a week on vaping, so that brings it down to £410 on food and nappies, how much do you spend on nappies? If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Hi i would say around 15 a week with baby wipes n stuff .0

so that is £60 pm which means you are still looking at £350 pm on food when 2 are toddlers.
This can be reduced a lot. Take a look at the old style boards, Jack Monroe, loads of info online around eating healthily on a shoestring.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Hi Bullyboy20,
check out Dave Ramsey on youtube to give you some motivation. I second that your wife could try online surveys etc. I just do a couple every night while watching TV, I get rewarded mainly in vouchers which I use at ChristmasTallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -

Back to the old style board - almost everything in the house can be cleaned using a small set of basic products like white vinegar etc. Its more Eco too.
Only buy aftershave when you have used every drop you have already in the house.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Echo all the above. It’s amazing how much you can shave off by making a few changes. Jack Monroe is great for cheap meals. Recipes on there to feed a family of four for the price of two tins of beans and a tin of chopped tomatoes. Cleaning stuff - Lidl branded or even bleach watered down in a spray bottle etc. Reality is you can’t afford £350+ for two adults and two kids to eat.
Do you buy Lidl nappies? Always the best reviewed and much cheaper than branded.
I still hope you have a hard think about your options when your head is a bit clearer. Like said above, there’s a massive shortfall each month building up and cutting down a bit isn’t going to solve yet.Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5140 -
Hi ano what your saying and understand but a need this dormer on back soon 3 years latest when i can remorgage
I live in a 2 bedroom
House and my children cant share so youngest sleeps with us.
I also paid top dollar for house
And tried to sell twice it wont sell
Only for a low price.
Im very tempted so sell cheap and go rent a 2 bedroom house, then i would take the dmp option0 -
Renting is much more expensive than a mortgage in the long run. It’s essentially money thrown away. Plus you’ll need large deposits to move into a place (sometimes six weeks rent plus a months rent up front), none of which you’re guaranteed to get back if there’s any damage caused to the property. And landlords can decide to sell up and you’ll be moved on after your notice, meaning you have to get deposit money together again.
It would be crazy to lose money on your house and go into unstable renting. Don’t make any rash decisions about your home while you’re stressed.
How old is your youngest? What’s the longest you can grin and bear it and live with the house in its current arrangement? Does it have to be getting a dormer? Could you maybe split a room with a wall so they both can have a room? The reality is you can’t afford it right now and it’s going to send you into even more financial turmoil.Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5140 -
Hi youngest is almost 3
Hasn't got a bedroom and layout of house we need a dormer in 3 years time.
Part of mi just wants go rent bankcrupt
Live in 3 bed house and be out of debt forever.
Its 1 vicious circle, homeowner ship is fine if can afford it but i feel rent is a much better option.0
