Don’t know where you live, but renting a three bed house is likely to be more than your mortgage, isn’t it? I’ve just come out of nearly 20 years of renting and it’s so up and down sometimes. I had landlords wanting to sell constantly, deposits being held up for weeks on end, repairs being slow to get done, difficult letting agents, being charged crazy amounts on check out - ie £80 for a missing screw out of a chair. There are in theory protections when you’re renting, but the day to day process of trying to get things moving can be slow and there’s not much you can do other than keep pestering. Plus all that rent money you’ll never see again.
Okay, you know your family’s needs better than we do. I wish you all luck with it and hope you find a concrete solution going forward that takes some of your current pressure off.Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5140 -
