2 wash mitts with holes in. 1 was just really worn out, the other had a hole in the same place for the third time now. I had mended it twice, but now decided that it is probably a weak thread in that place, and not worth the bother of mending.Working from home and dds home from school seems to be working out okay. We 'meet' at mealtimes and work/school in between, dds as much as possible on their own. DD1's teacher called today and was impressed how we had arranged it all.We have registered dd1 on an online speedtyping course, with a discount. I'm guessing she will pass with flying colours, as there is hardly anything to distract her now, in self-isolation.I have cleaned and sorted the pantry. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.597

I have kondoed the last of the Christmas turkey from the freezer - oh how things have changed since Christmas! I'm trying to use up those odd things you just don't fancy using. Also got some pork which wasn't brilliant that I'll pull out later in the week. Didn't want to get to a situation where we can't go out for supplies and are faced with unappetising choices left. The turkey turned out nicely, using up one of my precious tins of tomatoes. We use a lot of tinned tomatoes and they seem to be much in demand elsewhere.Make £2025 in 2025

DD2 had bought two baskets of miscellaneous 'girl toys' from a charity shop during the C*mas break. They were plastic foil wrapped, and I told her she had to wash everything inside before she could play with it. Only last night, did DD1 tell her to finally open them (DD1 paid for them, as a nice gift), they washed all items, DD2 made her choice, and then threw away all the bits she didn't want to play with. Success! Plus: I now have 3 baskets (1 was double-basketed) to play with. I'm thinking they will go into the girls' wardrobe and replace the shoeboxes that hold their clothes.

The baskets are in the wardrobe.
DD1 has inventoried some of her baskets, and has put 1 vest and 2 jeans in the donation/dd2 pile.
I found a bagforlife filled wit games and toys underneath the girls' desk. 1 game is in the donation pile, 1 cuddly toy, 1 broken doll, several lengths of string and 2 flawed concentration games in the bin, pencils back in the pencil drawer, kitchen toys with the other kitchen toys. 1 bag or box at a time, I will get there.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.598 -
Well, there’s never been a better time for Kondoing! I am doing a cupboard or drawer each day, yes I know that is not in the spirit of Marie Kondo but I did the full works a few years ago when this thread first began. Needless to say, I found some stuff that had “died in storage“. I found some sample size face creams which I have put out to use every day, I’m going to come out of lockdown looking fabulous (if you ignore the hair that won’t have been cut or highlighted for months!). And I went through some of my outstanding craft projects, and jettisoned a lot of stuff that I know I’m not going to use, it will go to the charity shop for rags. I think charity shops are going to be inundated when they reopen! As you say Siebrie, little and often is the way, one bag at a time.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.9

I'm doing a cupboard/ drawer/ space a day too.
The cupboard under the kitchen sink yielded a full bottle of washing up liquid - it's like good dust round here! - and bottle of Dettol anti-bac spray.
The bathroom cupboard is yet to be done, but I am hoping for something nice, like sample size gives of toothpaste!
Meanwhile DH, now out of hospital and still with his foot intact, thank God, has started painting the garden walls, using odds and ends from the garage - a broken roller, a makeshift paint tray, various tins of ends of left over white emulsion, and a couple of weird brushes. uses up 'stuff', looks great compared to before and he can mostly sit to do it.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.9 -
Sounds like you and your husband have it all under control, Luxor4t!We had a deep clean of the house yesterday, and I instructed dds to sort out the top of their dresser. We threw out several of these plastic thingies that they use to sell earrings by the pair, a few really old books, a filled exercise book, some crumpled origami birds. The pencils were returned to the pencil drawer, several half-filled exercise books are now with the other exercise books, and I have given them one each to use with their schoolwork these weeks (the ones mostly filled up /bothering me the most).I have put a new showergel in the bathroom; it's a lovely mandarin smell husband was given for St Nicolas. He likes the smell, but doesn't think it's suitable for office wear, so he is using it these weeks at home. When this showergel is finished, he will use bars of soap (I have plenty of hotel bars to use up), and keep the neutral showergel for when the office is opened up again. Am I organised, or what? Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.596

DD2 is rushing through her homework, so I'm glad that I kept her math workbook from last year, that had many exercises still not made. I give her one page per day as an extra. I also found an old 'maths is fun' (or similar - bought from a discounter for dd1 some years back) book, and give her 1 page per day to fill in, which I then put with the old paper.DD2 is now starting on Simply Piano (paid app), which she didn't want to do before, preferring to just figure out how to play the piano on her own. I have to say, she did manage to play some simple melodies by just listening carefully to the notes and remembering which one was which. Not much real kondoing going on here, just the occasional odd food item eaten, old toys and books sorted, clothes mended. The real kondoing is invisible: unwanted behaviour. I'm training dds and husband to keep off electronics; I have agreed with dds that they cannot use electronics during formal school hours and after dinner, but husband lets them, very annoying!

Out: a nivea make-up remover (micellair water or some similar name), only used once and then it stripped everything from my skin so badly it looked as if I was stung by bees all over my face and took a fortnight to calm down. Nivea never replied to my complaint, with pictures, so I have no trouble naming and shaming them. It was bought on a rebate after purchase promotion, and had lingered in my bathroom drawer for about four months after the skin reaction, and now it's gone. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.597

out: 1 pair of holey winter tights, 1 'grandmother's recipes' book - really awful, basically just lists of ingredients, no pictures at all.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.596
