3 items from the gifting box successfully rehomed plus some of DD's stationery bits to a schoolfriend. 1st musical instrument sold and payment received and squirrelled! Chazzer run this weekend I think with a good box-full. House sale is really stressful at the moment - you just don't know who's telling the truth, solicitors blaming each other and no-one keeping me updated
. I feel like the weight of the world's on my shoulders atm as OH isn't able to help much recovering from surgery. DD is emotional leaving her old school and we don't even know when we'll be in the new house
I wish I were better at compartmentalising.

Hazelnutty, that sounds awful! Can you give yourself a 'worry hour'? Just one hour during the day, for instance from 10-11am where you sit down and write down everything that worries you, and any actions you may need to take. After that hour, take the actions. Any worries that come up, either write them down, or tell them to wait until tomorrow.I would start making noises about 'discount for disruption of the process', 'bad review for unprofessional and lax behaviour', 'ombudsman (if there is one)' .....Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5913

Hi everyone, I used to chat here a few years ago. We have downsized from a 4 bed detached to a 3 bed bungalow. We did major decluttering before the move but things are mounting up again. We have all 3 children's stuff from Uni days stored in our garage along with items left by the previous owners. Now settled into our new home we realise there are more things to declutter. We have decided to get a few boxes from the loft every so often and go through them. We have got rid of 2 black bin bags and loads of files and papers so far. In the garage a bike and some garden implements are off to CS. Not much of a dent but it's a start.Weight loss 0/2st

Thanks, Siebrie. It's all made more complicated and difficult by the fact that our estate agent is the dad of DD's former schoolfriend and we know (and like) the mum a lot. So it's harder to be 'business-like' about it. It is upsetting though to be treated like the enemy by the people you're paying to represent your interests! I went to see my solicitor yesterday and we looked through everything outstanding point by point and almost everything was down to the other side being a large sausage=-factory firm and just not bothering to read the documents we sent! So infuriating! So we will definitely be in a B&B for the first week or two of DD's new school
I do like your idea of a worry hour though so thank you for that
I've definitely noticed the effect of this stress on me recently.
In more positive news, OH bundled up about 100 random flowerpots I'd bought off FB ages ago when we fancied we might take on the garden (reader: we didn't). They've been passed on free. So shed declutter has officially startedChoose kind10 -
Oh Hazelnutty, how awful for you. I'm just catching up - thats really rough for you. And its the trouble with dealing with friends, or even acquaintances, for such big things. I hope its going to go a bit smoother now you've sat down and identified action points.I have a bag full of rags and clothes and bitty things ready to take to the cs - things are starting to move a bit.2023: the year I get to buy a car11

Hazelnutty, I deeply sympathise. I guess it's the old 'mixing business and pleasure' thing
Have let my kondoing slip for a week or so as had a deadline. Tomorrow I am going in to DD's room (with her and with her permission) I hope to massively catch up my items then... I also want to sort out the conservatory and the lounge after delivery of new to us sofas. Lounge may have to wait 10 days until old sofa can go (it's currently just sat in front of the new one).
New one has a lower back than the old and so the scuff marks on the wall behind are visible. To be fair the room hasn't been decorated for 10 years so it's due. It'll have to wait until my thesis is submitted.
Today I am kondoing marking - what else to do on a foul day? I might as well get ahead.
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -

Yes, it's been a rough few months. OH's first surgery was September and it's been up and down ever since. I think as soon as we've exchanged then I will feel a whole lot better and can get cracking with my list of jobs! At least then I can feel I'm making progress rather than being in this anxiety-inducing limbo.
Today I passed all of DD's uniform from her old school on to a schoolfriend, all washed and ready. A mixed bag went to the chazzer. Tackled the utility room which has been a general dumping ground recently. Sorted out our little drawer unit and passed some bits to DD and binned some out of date and suspect-looking items. Sorted out a random shoe-related box and repacked in a proper lidded box. Dismantled the shelves and took down a pinboard, polyfilled and painted. It's not all done but chipping away.
Also found two brand new Pandora charms in a box languishing at the back of my wardrobe! Going to try to sell them on as I don't wear bracelets really. Will probably use the proceeds to pay for my fence to be fixed! I don't think it's going to last the night...Choose kind11 -
At my recent appointment with Rheumatologist I was prescribed a low dose of steroids for 2 weeks, I have used the resulting burst of energy to get to grips with kondoing, first my yarn stash and today I have tackled my jewellery, mostly costume not precious stones. A goodly sized bag now ready for CS drop in the next few days. In theory I now should be able to find the appropriate things to go with the colour scheme of the day. Yarn and needles passed on to willing friends and next task will be to stash UFOs and future projects tidily where they can easily be found.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Bin: 2 small mcd (or similar) nasty disoloured toys I found in dds' play area, broken belt (the paint just flakes off)Donation local charity: 1 pair dd2's socks, 1 pair dd2's winter tights, 1 scarf (mine - I've always doubted the rather dark colours, although I like the scarf in general; I decided it's just not worth it, so I'm passing it on).From the attic into dd2's wardrobe: 6 longsleeves, 2 leggings, 2 T-shirts.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5910
