I am incredibly relieved and will probably float on this feeling throughout the weekend! As I may have said earlier, we want to make some major renovations to our home, and include optimal insulation and dampproofing. This will cost A LOT of money, and our Architect had warned us that our €100,000 budget would probably not be enough. Today, the Architect, a Trainee-Architect, a Damp Specialist, and a Builder came to have a look at our walls, and break into a few walls, to check the interior. ALL IS FINE! The walls are very well-insulated, and there is no damp in any of them, so we don't have to replace our exterior sidewall. Such a relief! Now, we can allocate funds for fun things (enlarging and separating the 2 bedrooms at the back), rather that structural things. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5910

DH and I spent a jolly hour in the attic bedroom sorting out the mess post the rear roof replacement and prior to having the attic ceiling replastered because - of course! - replacing the roof knocked huge lumps out of the sloping ceilings
We had removed everything from the under-eaves storage spaces, and now have to sort and replace what we are keeping....yay!
So far, a pile of old boxes, a 20 year old suitcase, assorted bits for the CS, and all sorts of odd bits of wallpaper that I had no idea DH had kepthave left the house.
I am now looking at an empty instrument case and wondering what the best way to pass it on will be, as the instrument is niche so demand is limited.
In other news, I'm up to 20 eB*y sales and almost £30 from ziff*t, so that is our cash-neutral Valentine's day jaunt paid for!

The one where we got a large wardrobe stuck in the stairwell, with one helper on one side and one on the other, and the staircase impassible. Memo to self; what went up a as a flatpack ain't necessarily coming down as an assembled piece...
And I left behind the IKEA Billy bookcases & IVAR wardrobes that were assembled in situ.
But the best thing I did was get the estate agents measurements and plan my rooms, so I knew where things were going when the removals men brought them in (in a previous life my mum used to do the graph paper thing)

blimey, a few sunny days and I am ready and able to do some `downsizing` for spring, no idea what to tackle though. It seems to accumulate in the nest for winter but head over heart says that it is still winter and I am not ready yet. I haven`t been good as in one in and even one out, its the endorphins that makes me do it

Siebre - what great news, you must be so relieved
3 large bags of clothes, household items etc to CS last week and a small knitting kit ready to be passed to a (very willing) friend who can make use of it, need to spend some time sorting my craft stash to see if anything else can be released soon, this is a gentle ongoing project. 2 large bags of bubble wrap, freegled and gone too.

Hi all. So the two jackets and a handbag went at work. I've donated a sleeping bag, a swimming cozzie is going today - both small bits so you don't really notice the space but every little helps I suppose. Very proud of my packaging efforts for sending the musical instrument, re-used the packaging from my G0usto box so my flute is wrapped in a woolly blanket! Discovered Vintage Cash Cow online so going to send my other instrument (not good enough for the first retailer - it's quite old), old currency, Pandora bits off to them and see what happens. It was kind of fun sorting through the currency, some of which I think came to me from my late grandma. Included a 1939 French banknote and some currency from the former USSR.
I've kept a gifting box for some time now, which has been really useful for the forgotten classmate's birthday party. But realised a few things had been lingering for a while. Really nice stuff (brand new silver jewellery!) but probably never going to be gifted by me anyway. So I've listed almost everything. Again, little bits but they all add up.
Good news on the house front that I won't need to replace the guttering. Just needs a good clean, so can mentally reallocate that money. Phew!Choose kind12 -
It has been in the attic for 30 years, but I have finally dealt with my first wedding album - most of it is in the recycling or the bin but I've kept the pictures with my parents, sister and grandparents.
I have absolutely zero regrets that the marriage ended as it was a disaster from the start, and but I do miss my grandparents!
And, yes, ex-MiL looked grumpy in most of the pictures

Great news that Siebrie and Hazelnutty's house projects aren't going to be as pricey as feared. Quietish on the KM front here, I did see that something I donated to a chazzer a week or so back is in their window for £20, which will become £25 with gift aid if it sells, fingers crossed.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Managed to get rid of a SAD lamp yesterday to a friend who wanted to try one but was unwilling to pay the price. I am glad it is out of the cupboard. ALso a PS Vita memory card to DD who will exchange it for £6 in vouchers at CEX
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Hello! Hope everyone's OK after the weekend storm. It's been pretty bad our way, quite a few cars caught on coastal roads. Netball match was cancelled, which went down very well with my band of slightly raggedy older ladies!
I've managed to agree sales on three items from the gifting box, so will be moving them on later this week. Not decluttering but dispatched 5 large boxes of CDs to XH, who's been renovating his new house so couldn't take them. Nice space cleared by their departure!
Paid in £40 from latest sales into the bank today so that'll be squirrelled into my house move pot.
We're also doing pretty well eating up the freezer and cupboards to minimise the amount of food being transported.
Am really hoping we can exchange contracts soon so I can started planning in earnest. So many ideas and loads of work to be done on the house but no point getting too excited until we exchange. I do like a good plan and organise session but having to hold back for now!Choose kind14
