I have decided that 2020 is going to be the year of finishing the unfinished projects, and if I don’t want to do them badly enough to complete them then they have to go. This is one area of my life where I have found MK quite difficult, compared to other areas.......
Igamogam, I was right there with you when you described the "ear off the sheep costume"! Been there...
I have gone through my sewing things, and now they are all in one place, and despite making donations, selling some bits and binning some odds and ends, there is still a lot
So, this is the year I do not buy anything new - unless I run out mid-project - looking at you, black embroidery cotton!
DH will lose his job this year, a bit earlier than he wanted, but we cannot complain as they kept him on when he was quite poorly. So, this is the year we shift from 'cash donations' to donating our time, energy and goods.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.1 -

However, there is something you said above which really made an impact on me. You said “I forgave myself ...”. Your comment has made me realise that I’ve begun to feel guilty about not decluttering. That is not what this journey is about! I have simplified my life and removed an awful lot of stuff, and I’m going to stop beating myself up about the things that I haven’t done.3 -
Evening all
Loaded the car with my wedding dress, a huge duffel bag I used to travel to Germany for my year abroad back in 1995, a few bits from Christmas (the slippers my DD opened and managed to hold her face together), loads of excess sports kit, some ski poles, handbags and DD's clearout (she's a very determined declutterer
) It was a bootful :j Also disassembled some shelves - how satisfying is a good electric screwdriver session?
and duly polyfilled, sanded and touched up.
FB sales/giveaways a little slow right now. I'm going to give a few bits a last go on the work email list. Also trying to sell a couple of musical instruments I haven't played since my teens. It was more my mum's thing than mine.Choose kind2 -
My Mum gave me one of her bras (she's changing shape....) when we were at their place over Christmas; I finally tried it on last night and it doesn't fit, so it's in the Africa donation bag.
Lots of dds' paperwork in the old paper container. We spent the weekend preparing DD2's presentation on her talents (every pupil gets 5 minutes during the year to present their talent to the class); her talent is 'English'She is self-taught from youtube, I guide her a bit, and she soaks it up like a sponge!

Siebrie what are The Turtles?
It's a thread on the Debt Free Wannabe Challenges part of the Forum. They have a different theme each month (this month it's Roaring Twenties/Flappers) and are very welcoming and positive.
Other welcoming and positive threads I follow and occasionally post on:
- Make Do, Mend and Minimise 2020
- Konmari 2020
- Wombabeluba!
- Love Food Hate Waste 2020
- Frugal Living Challenge 2020
All these threads are on either Debt Free Wannabe Challenges or Old Style Moneysaving, and are very motivational. Other parts of the Forums are a bit too harsh for me, which doesn't spark joy, so I stay away.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.595 -
Evening!
Picked up 2 pairs of Gap jeans in brilliant condition in a charity shop today :j. So went upstairs and found 2 pairs of jeans and sports bra top thing to pass on. Also cleared out underwear, sock and tights collection. I almost never wear dresses/skirts these days so no need to keep a wide selection of sheer, opaque and fishnet tights:D TBH they're not in great condition after being stored for so long anyway.
Hoping to sell 2 jackets at work this week and have got a quote to sell one of the musical instruments from an online retailer. Money will go into the house move pot. The potential bill for everything that needs fixing seems to be rising by the day. Today I've found out I'm facing around £800 to clear moss off the roof and gutters  My savings will be eaten up in no time
ATM buying uniform for DD's new school so feels like more stuff is coming into the house than out of it. But have my eye on coats, hats, scarves and shoes for the next round of decluttering.Choose kind6 -
Ragbag: 1 pair of dd1's socks (she delayed cutting her toenails and has now gone through 2 pairs of socks
)
I have to find new shoes for me, as the current pair is coming undone.
DD2 brought a very nice dress to school for her part in the school fete, but apparently, all the other parents bought new (princess) dresses and now dd2 feels left outThe note from school specifically said 'don't buy new, we will make sure everyone is nicely dressed'. The other parents are not sparking joy at the moment! I will see what I can do for dd2's dress.

I found two almost-new dress-up dresses in the dress-up box, gave them a good shake, checked for stains (none!) and tears (none!), and sent them to school with dd2.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.596
