    So 2700 incoming
    1960 outgoing

    = 740 'spare'

I haven't included my driving test/lessons as I'm fully intending to pass the test I have coming up in Jan - 4th time lucky eh!!

So all being well, IF I manage to stick to the budget then I should be able to meet my target of 700 saving per month.
I'm also intending to keep on with quidco etc and am also going to apply again for AQA once my 8 weeks gap period is up.
Sounds like a plan - hopefully I can stick to it!!

Good luck with your test! I passed on my second time but it took me forever to actually get how to drive, and the costs do mount up. I know you can do it though, so go for it :)

yeah, driving 9or not!) is the bane of my life! has been for 2 years now. But i refuse to give in - not after the cash we've spent. Not thinking about it though until the week (think its the 21st) as it makes me too nervous and I cant bear it. It makes me feel sick.

Off to do a look through the cupboards and see what i can cobble together to feed us this week without spending any cash.

well, end of dec is here and i think we can safely say that I've failed miserably - if not for the saving grace of dales bonus and the money earned through £10 a day challanges/ebay etc. We'd have saved diddly squat.

Gonna tot up the overspend now, just to make me ill. Scared...

    Ok,

    overspend for Dec

    Food 400
    Eating out 220
    Clothes 200
    Xmas 200
    MIL b'day 100

    Total 1120

    'Spare money' - 700
    Bonus 1500

    2200 - 1120 = 1080 plus ebay/ extra money made £361

    Total save for Dec £1441

If that makes sense?? So obviously we've overspent horribly and I'm completely ashamed. But that was December. We had Xmas, alot of socialising and MIL to pay for. If I'd have stuck to the budget we'd have alot more to put away but alas I didn't.

January is January though. A new start. Determined to stay on budget and rock this challenge for 2008. Have just signed up to the £10 a day challenge for Jan so will be trying my best with that. Hopefully will have a better story to report come Jan 31st!!

    2200 -

Successful no spend day today. Watched night at the museum with the kids. Had a good poke through the cupboards and think we can get through the first week of Jan spending no more than £10 on the 'top up bits' ie milk bread etc.

Am going to Bath on Friday with friend on a girly spa day then prob out for food/clubbing. But I have money put aside should be ok. Am likely to need £30 for petrol/parking (split) and then some moeny for dinner and drinks. Dale paid for the spa day and the hotel as a xmas pressie, as did her boyf for her. So that should be good fun - nice to have a treat to look forward to after xmas. Hopefully my uggs will be with me by then

    Morning all!
D back at work today which is rubbish but prob for the best. Nice having him around but not for too long eh! Plus I totally slack off the housework when he's around as we're too busy doing nice things. It gives me chance to get back into the routine.

The boys have been nagging for a kitten since seeing BIL sooooo cute little kitty on Mon. I'm just not sure thou. I do like cats and would like one in an ideal world but the expense, the mess and the responsibility ie for holidays etc are putting me off. Also, coby has alot of allergies - we know he has a dog allergy. As yet he's never reacted to cats but I guess having one in your home is different to just 'visiting ' one for half an hour.........oh, just phoned nurse at gp's and she said its a nono. Apparantly even if he's not allergic now its common for a 'allergic' person to develop and allergy over time. Oh bless him. I was trying to explain yesterday that a cat could make his skin sore and he cried and said he didn't mind having sore skin.

    Good morning!
Oh dear re. cats and allergies. I always feel really guilty as a lot of my friends are allergic to cats (I have 3!), but they still don't mind coming round and they always develop symptoms and it can't be nice for them.
