Mmm, the pudding sounds lovely, did it turn out ok?0
-
Yes!! It did - surprisingly. It was really good. and easy. google nigella ice cream cake and the recipes out there with the butterscotch sauce - yum! did get a teeny bit tipsy - giving the liver a rest now until saturday (going out with friends for alternative new year).
chilling at home today v- not planning on spending a bean. Although I have got to arrange a cake for dales mums 50th birthday. I've organised a lunch with dales brothers and sisters/partners and kids at an itialian rest. Well, no one else was organising anything. Means I have to sit across the table from his spoilt sister who i haven't spoken to since she flounced out of our wedding when she wasn't at the top table (as we thought she'd prefer to sit next to her boyfriend). she must take the prize for worst bridesmaid ever. After we'd paid for her dress, gift and her boyfriend to come (even thou we dont know him and it was a small intimate wedding) she texted me the wedding week to say she may have to leave early as she wanted to work that night (she works in a bar!!!)!!!!
i've told dale if she's coming to the meal then she needn't expect me and dale to pay for her, and she can chip in for MIL, FIL and dales little sister becky too. the wedding was the last time she rocked on our dime! thing is, I expect she'll flutter her lashes and her dad or other brother will pay for her. gggrrrrrrrrr.
anyway, rant over. not sure where to get a cake from?????? gonna do a bit of internet digging...MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hey there,
Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Sounds like you had a great day. Can't beleive it is all over already :-(
Sat on couch still full up from a very hefty eating session on Christmas day and yesterday....can't move! Andy has gone to work so home alone and making the most of an afternoon and evening to myself!!
Sad as it sounds I am starting plans for 2008 and saving the pennies to clear debts eventually....one day money won't be the first thing on my mind....I hope!!

Hi SI hope you had a good day, even with andy at work. i'm also thinking about money and sorting out cancelling some c.c's I signed up to for quidco cash/vouchers etc. its such a pain.they make it so damn difficult to cancel - wish you could just do it online! debenhams left me on hold for 8 mins and barclaycard just said they'll call me back! whats betting they dont!
xmas sends most people abit crazy I think. I just looked at the masses of spirits/wine we bought for entertaining over the festive period. I think we forget its a matter of a couple of days. our livers would be pickled had we got through that lot! there about 2/3' of it left!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Pudding sounds very yummy! I will do a Google search, thankyou
For the cake for Dale's mum, could you make one? Or will it have to be a bought one?
Ack, the meal sounds like it could be stressful, but I hope it goes ok, is it soon?0 -
Hi Nicki
The meal is new years eve, d's mums birthday. I really cant bear the thought of being in the same room as his sister but as its for his mum I just have to swallow it. She's never apologised for how she acted at the wedding and until she does thats it. Wouldn't have been so hurtful if we hadn't actually been friends as I'd tried to sort of take her under my wing. Will just have to grin and bear it.
Tried everywhere for a cake but not enough notice. Shame as marks and spencers had some lovely ones. The plan is to buy a plain iced sponge and then decorate it myself - eeeek! Things like that never go well for me. Cobys first birthday I tried to make him a castle cake but it fell to pieces - at which point MIL whisked out of the fridge a perfect one she had 'just in case'.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Kids are at the kitchen table writing their thank you letters at the moment. They came downstairs before us this morning and opened some of the presetns they hadn't had out of boxes yet. But ripped a jigsaw box apart so now there's nowhere for the pieces and tipped out their lego pieces all over the place. So they're on a no cartoons/no toys ban today. Was planning on going out for a walk - may just have a walk into town for milk bread etc.. Getting a touch of cabin fever as we've not been out since xmas eve!!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

oh dear - went out for milk/bread and ended up having tea at the fish and chip shop - despite having a fridge full of leftovers. dales insistance - he 'doesn't like' leftovers. He's totally spoilt! so thats £16 down. Decided we're getting MIL a digital photoframe for her birthday (as well as the cake, the meal...) Will load it up with loads of pics of the kids. Luckily dales brother is going halfs with us so should be about £50 each. To be fair though, dales parents have done a lot for us in the past so she deserves a treat. They had the boys for 10 days when we went on honeymoon and have treated us alot financially, especially when we first had coby and were both students. They would put £30 a week into our bank - bless them. And it is her 50th so pretty special. Cant quite believe she's 50 though - she doesnt seem 50 at all!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Morning all. Going into nottingham today to sort out MIL birthday presents. Hopefully the sales wont suck me in too much! Have got £50 vouchers for Next so that'll cover a few bits for the boys. They could also do with trainers but only if i find bargains in the sale.
Going out with friends tonight for our 'new years eve' so looking forward to the chance to get all dolled up. Cant decide between a silver or purple dress thou - - ummm, decisions decisions eh!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
