I'm really hoping to be accepted by AQA in the new year - that would be perfect for me -fingers crossed anyway!

Having my haircut today ready for my night out tonight. I tend to save my haircuts for special occasions - I last had it done in August for a wedding - and its in the budget so I think I'm ok. Also gonna use a voucher to get the simpsons movie out to watch with the kids.

Really, looking forward to my night out tonight - although dale had better perk up! He's in bed nursing a hangover as we speak.

    Have good weekends everyone!

  • Hi Roxie,

Love the thread, you have a great writing style (probably since you do it for a job, well used to!)

I too can vouch for sliethepic, have done a few, and am aiming for £1 a day which isn't too hard at all! Just make sure you write honest, relatively detailed reviews.

Looking forward to hearing more, and I've no doubts you'll get your £50k!

  • Hi Roxie,

Hope it was a good shop in Sainsburys! I love food shopping for Christmas - luckily for me this year I have managed to not get involved and visiting family instead. Save's the pennies.

Hope you had a nice meal Saturday.

Ok, sat last night, glancing at the comp - it was staring at me making me feel guilty! I didn't want to post. I didn't want to confess to the blowout that occured yesterday. Then I came on this morning, had a little check and found 2 encouraging messages (thanks marksandsparks and sorting it) and so here I am, hanging my had in shame to confess all.:o

So, off I went to do the last bits of xmas shopping, so far so good. Until I wandered into debenhams and saw their soooooooo cute boys clothes. Now, in my defence, Coby is desperate for trousers. He's had a growth spurt and they just look, well, plain wrong.I wanted to hold out until the sales but dale told mne it was getting ridiculous and i had to get him some asap. Unfortunately I also bought both boys a 'xmas' outfit and a couple of warm jumpers. The end damage was £177.
I also bought myself a couple of jumpers but I had the money saved up so that was ok.

Anyways, so December has turned into a bit of a blow the budget month - I promise promise promise i'll be better in Jan!

ps sorting it, we did have a lovely meal - it was great. we had a really lovely time and it came in under £60 so thats good.

  • Hello,

Glad you had a nice meal.

Try not to be too hard on yourself, you have done so well so far and we are all guilty of such spends at Christmas I am sure! I went out yesterday and brought lots of sweets to fill out festive bowl...there are only the two of us and to be honest my wasteline could do without the extra chocs!!!

Like you say, pick up and start again in the New Year! I most def will become a regular poster then. Still in process of sorting my DMP but I want to save as much as I can (however I can!) along the side to enable me to finish it within 3 years. It's going to be a tough call but I am determined to do it. OH said he will open savings account in his name only for me to put money is so I am not tempted to touch it!

Anyhow, off to meeting now. Have a good day xxx

  • Afternoon,

The Winter Wonderland was great fun, ice skating, big wheel, candy floss!! Only thing was Andy was really poorly full of flu so he couldn't stay out that long and was in bed in hotel with night nurse by 10pm. Still it was nice to spend the time together. Then rest of the weekend was spent getting tree and decs etc - it's our first christmas living together :-)

Having a very boring day today, our systems have crashed and I have done absolutely nothing at all. Althought that is good as get to sit and chat I would actually prefer to be doing something now! Also think Andy has passed on his flu as aching, sore throat etc....nice early night for me.

Hope you are having a nice afternoon xxx
