  • Hi Folks,

    Here is this weekend's update:

    - Barnsley BS Christmas Saver added to post 7 (same details as the Yorkshire BS Christmas Saver which is already there)
    - Abbey Super Fixed Rate Monthly Saver Issue 9 - moved into post 6 as it now requires an investment, pension or protection plan to be taken out rather than a current account

I shall do another update next weekend.

  • Hi Everybody,

    Here is this weekend's update.

    - Buckinghamshire BS Chiltern Gold Builder interest rate increased slightly to 4.12% gross pa / AER from 1st January (was 4.10%)
    - Abbey Fixed Rate Monthly Saver Issue 11 withdrawn and replaced with issue 12 which seems to have identical details
    - Dunfermline BS Monthly Saver Issue 6 has disappeared from their website - if it is still not there next weekend then I will assume it has been withdrawn and remove it from the list
    - Leeds BS Online Access Issue 2 (from the feeder section) has been withdrawn
    - Egg Savings account (feeder section) has been withdrawn and replaced by Egg Savings Issue 2 which pays the same overall interest rate (the 12 month fixed bonus interest has increased to 2% but the overall interest rate is 2.5%, the same as the issue 1 account)

I will do another update next weekend.

    All the best,
    SS2
  • Hi

Opened a principality building society reg saver last month. Sent a payment via my Natwest account using the details provided by them in the welcome letter.

Natwest reckon it should arrive the same day (sent yesterday). Anybody got any experience of when it will show in Principality account? Whats the best way of checking if it got there ok?

Also, am i right in thinking the payment must arrive by the 20th each month? And does it have to be a standing order or can it be a faster payment made online

    Thanks

Standing orders are sent as Faster Payments by NatWest. You can check if the regular saver is FP enabled here.
  • Why not include
Why choose the First Home Saver (Special Issue 1)?

    • Enjoy – a great variable interest rate of 5.00% gross/AER on your savings for your first home.
    • Save – Make an initial deposit of between £100 and £5000 and then save between £100 and £300 per month by standing order to get the preferential rate. You will receive a lower rate of 0.10% gross/AER when you pay in under £100 or over £300 in any calendar month, but for that month only. The maximum balance on the account is £50,000. If you miss a payment you will receive an interest rate of 0.10% gross/AER for that month only.
    • Reward – Get a great rate for saving regularly towards a deposit for your first home and in return all we ask you to do is have a mortgage interview up to 90 days before you come to close the account.
    • Easy – Instant access to your First Home Saver via branch. Please note there are no partial withdrawals allowed on this account. You can access your funds at any time but will need to close your account. To close your account you will need to bring in two forms of ID plus the validation checklist that you were given on account opening.
    • Flexible – pay into the First Home Saver by standing order or through the branch.
    • Eligibility - To qualify for a First Home Saver (Special Issue 1) you must be:
      1. Under the age of 35
      2. A first time buyer
      3. Able to save an amount between £100 and £300 each month
First Home Saver (Special Issue 1) – rates below are variable
    Tier
    Gross p.a./AER
    £100 - £50,000
    5.00%

    See http://www.principality.co.uk/default.aspx?page=1186
If you opt to pay by standing order it must be set up between the 1st and 20th of each month, it is also your responsibility to ensure that the payments are received each month otherwise the account will automatically default into instant access without notice.
  • Echelon101, thanks but the Santander First Home Saver (Special Issue 1) account is already listed in post 8. Looking back, I added it to the list over a year ago (on 7th December 2008 according to post 367). It is funny to think that the interest rate used to be 8%!

    All the best,
