In the course of my checking that the SO to the Tigers RS had gone through OK, it was mentioned that there is a newly announced regular saver at 2% if anyone is interested. You can have both.

    Account name
    Special Regular Saver Issue 5
    Interest rates (AERs)
Annual interest 2.00% gross rate p.a./AER*
The interest on this account is variable, this means that it can go up or down. The basis on which we might change your interest rate is set out in our terms and conditions
    Tax status
We will pay your interest without tax taken off. It is your responsibility to declare any interest you earn over your personal savings allowance directly to HMRC. Your tax treatment will depend on your individual circumstances and may be subject to change in the future, for further information please contact HMRC
    Conditions for bonus payments
    No bonus payable
    Withdrawal arrangements
    No withdrawals allowed
    Access
    Branch

are you saying that if you have 5 you cannot have 6 ?

Opened and funded one (6) 2 days ago and it IS still open. Will it be closed by them ?

My non-funded issue 6 was closed by them.
The T&C's say you can't have 6 if you already have 5. :(

The page on the Leeds website which advertises the Regular Saver 6 says this:

"Please note that you cannot open a Regular Saver (Issue 6) if you already have a Regular Saver (Issue 5)."

And the Product terms and Conditions pdf for the Regular Saver 6 has the following headline:

"Please note that you cannot open a Regular Saver (Issue 6) if you already have a Regular Saver (Issue 5)."

"cannot" is untrue - their stupid IT system is quite happy to let you open one.
Maybe they could change the T&C's to say "should not" and say they will be very cross if you do!!

Generally a lot better than too early
  • Branch Issue 5 is no longer shown on the Virgin website.

I noticed this last Wednesday (2nd August).

I was, however, still able to open this version at a branch on the 3rd August. I am not sure how long it will still be available.

Perhaps a new Issue one on the horizon?.

It doesn't show up in the "Previously offered" section of the website either so it may unofficially still be available. It's only been around for three weeks, the shortest of all the branch regular savers to date.

Branch Regular Saver 4 was on offer for 65 days, Branch Reg Saver 3 for 54, Branch Reg Saver 2 for 65 days and Branch Reg Saver 1 for 47.

    Re Leeds RS 6.

Yes I see it now "cannot have 5 and 6". My £250 is still sitting there happily.

Will they return and close ? Should I withdraw or hope they dont notice !?
