My Nationwide Flex Regular Saver matured and converted to the Flex Saver. I applied for another from outside of the internet bank, remembering it being mentioned on here as a work around when the system still thinks you already hold one even though it has matured.

Now for my question. During the application I asked them to fund the new account with £500 from my current account. I was prepared for the delay in seeing the new FRS in online banking, however £500 has left my account with the entry saying it was a cash withdrawal. I was expecting to see it say transfer to xxxx (whatever the new account number is.)

Was just wondering if this happened to anyone else? My card is in my possession and was last used in a branch to deposit last week.

My flexclusive matured this week so I opened a new one yesterday but I was within online banking, i'm not sure what mine said initially but 1 day on it says transfer to XXXX/XXXX..... and my new flexclusive regular saver is set up so I wouldn't worry. I'd think it wouldn't be able to give an account number immediately upon set up and taking the first payment until they have generated it & especially as you applied outside of online banking for joining it all up so don't worry, check your online banking tomorrow or monday to check its showing up & the transaction has updated.
    - Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
    - Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps

Just to update, my new FRS is now showing in online banking. Wasn't expecting any change over the weekend and logged in on the off chance. The £500 is all present and correct, so relieved that I don't have to dispute a cash withdrawal.

Just in case it may be useful for others, the Nationwide website now states that cards will be provided if you open in branch or from the website (so outside of internet banking as I did.) I haven't received the card yet as I only applied on Thursday, but it all seems to be in order (my FRS has a sort code and account number rather than the xxxx/xxxx.. format of the previous one opened within internet banking.)

Will post again if I do indeed receive a card (would like one but didn't fancy being read all the paperwork in branch.)
