  • This question is a bit late, but....

I'm making a trip into town tomorrow and will have an hour or so to spare. I'm thinking of visiting Virgin Money "lounge" to open the current issue of the branch-based RS. I already have the E regular savers issues 1,2 and 3.

Do I need an appointment or can I just turn up? (too late to get appointment for tomorrow, unfortunately).
Will I experience any difficulty in getting the branch account, given my E account holdings?
What should I take for ID?

I don't usually bother with branch -only accounts but this seems worth the effort.

You will probably need an appointment but no harm in popping in to ask.Myself and OH opened the branch account 2 weeks ago without any hassle but sadly we missed the first issue by a few days.

Also, it has to be opened in branch. So not good if there isn't a branch near you.

It has always been the case with KRBS RSA

To be completely safe take passport, driving licence, a recent utilities bill, the cash and a cheque. And phone for an appointment. If you can't be fitted in ask if you can call in, complete an application form, produce your ID to be copied and pay over the £250 by cash or cheque; if they say yes this will actually save you a lengthy recital of all the T&Cs etc.

Before you leave their premises have tea or coffee and some biscuits or cake (unless you are trying to keep off the sweet stuff). It's their way of saying thank you for investing.
