Planning and projecting into the future come July/August time I'm not going to have enough 'loose' money to finance my monthly RSs.
Stoozed credit card funds can help smooth over life's ups and downs! ;)
So I will have to 'raid' accounts that give higher interest to keep up my RSs that pay lower interest!
On those you can, you'd cut to the minimum, eg £25, wouldn't you?

All my four CCs are minimum monthly payment.

I've got the Leek BS RS which is £500 per month at a bare 2%. I am allowed one withdrawal per annum, so I think that will take the hit. I would happily swop it now for the new Virgin RS.

I was presented with an opportunity recently for a large 5-figure 'fast stooz', which was muled through my MBNA card to my current account. This will tide me over until 6 or 7 of my regular savers mature in October (another Santander sufferer here!).

This afternoon I was reading the T&Cs of a Virgin CC allowing a Balance Transfer over 24 months with no charges at all. I noticed the mention of a cash advance probably with the same terms. Is that similar to the one you mention above?

I haven't checked, but there will almost certainly be a fee for a 'money transfer'. I took a couple of fee-free 0% balance transfer deals and BTd a ficticious debt from MBNA to them, thereby creating a positive balance at MBNA, which was then kindly sent to my current account...totally fee-free!
  • Like several others, I anticipate a liquidity mismatch during April-July as my payments into RS accounts (including five from Virgin Money that I had not been expecting) will exceed the proceeds of any RS maturities. From August on it should be fine as I'll have several RS rolling off.

I'm planning to solve my pending cashflow shortfall by raiding, from a different account each successive month, my RS accounts with Yorkshire BS, Chelsea BS and Norwich & Peterborough BS (all three from the Yorkshire stable as you know), which all dropped their rate quite early on from 2.00% to 1.75%. These issues are currently earning the lowest rates in my RS & CA portfolios, and I'm not best pleased with them.

Kent Reliance KRBS recently launch a Regular Saver i3 paying 3% interest and withdrew i2 issue.

I just spoken to the branch where I already have i2 paying 3.25% they confirm only one regular saver per customer even with different issue. So out of luck for those who wish to open the second one.

Also, it has to be opened in branch. So not good if there isn't a branch near you.
  • The end is nigh for this brand of Yorkshire BS.
