Hi Folks,
I cannot find anything that has changed for this weekend's update of the first page of this thread.
I will do another update next weekend.

For those new to this thread, the first few posts are constantly updated and are here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...=608697&page=10 -
I changed my SO instruction from my other UK current account last month, I just noticed it it bounched back.
So I therefore pay manually from Nationwide account
I understand that for this account:
- The monthly funding could come from any UK current account, not necessary from Nationwide Account.
You can pay money in:
" Via Nationwide cash machines, if you have a card
By setting up a regular or one-off payment from a current account Online or via the Mobile Banking app (if you have registered for Internet Banking), from your Nationwide card account or instant access savings account.
Over the counter at any Nationwide branch"
Does NW Flexclusive Regular Saver funding will have to come from an internal Nationwide account or could be from external account?
Does anyone have the same experience like I did ?
Thanks

I've recently started my Regular Saver and I'm sure I've funded it direct from my Natwest Account than going via the Flexdirect account0

In your case the funding to your NW - regular saver is from Flexdirect account not from Natwest. That is also what I did in the past. But now my flex direct interest has dropped so, I wanted to close it so I will need to rearrange the SO.
I am interested in knowing whether they allow the funding come direct form External account to RSA, not via Nationwide account.0 -
Do the terms and conditions of the Flexclusive Regular Saver state that funding has to come from Nationwide?
I did not see any of this. Just want to see whether I have missed something ? This is the spirit of discussion forum is not it ??

colsten & Careful_ly: I said I'd post an update re trying to open N'wide Reg Saver. You may remember I'd been trying to open one and their system wouldn't let me even though I'd been making the required payments into Flex Account and was told (dubiously) the reason for the failure was that the £750 had to stay in overnight? I'd continued, periodically, to try to open Reg Saver and still no joy, until I received a message today saying that they can confirm that I "do meet the criteria" and so they have "now updated my profile to reflect my loyalty" so, hey-presto, I've now managed to open the account.
I must admit that I think the reason given is a bit obscure and I don't know what has triggered the "magic" permissible date as nothing has changed since all the failed attempts (apart from them "changing my profile to reflect my loyalty"), ie., I'm not into a 4th month. Oh well, it's done now.0 -

Be careful closing your FlexDirect if it's the only "eligible" account you have. The terms read:
"1. The account is for individuals aged 18 or over who meet one of the following two criteria:
a. Hold a FlexOne account and be aged 18 or over, or hold a FlexAccount and have:... [£750pm for three months or completed an account switch to us in the last four months.]
b. Hold a FlexDirect or FlexPlus account.
...
4. If you no longer meet the eligibility criteria we may transfer the account to another instant access savings account and the terms and conditions of that account will apply and we will contact you when we do this."
This could be moot given the foregoing but re direct deposit, this account only has a roll number. It used to be that with these types of accounts there was a common sort code and account number and then you entered the roll number in the reference of your payment instruction.
I cannot post a link but if you Google, "Nationwide find your sort code and account number" you'll find a page with instructions on how to direct deposit to various types of accounts. This type of account is not listed there. I think you'd need to call them.0 -
Yes I am aware about that.
I have two flex accounts and have been paying £1000 a month, which I used to get the EU Travel insurance.
That is probably the explanation why it bounces back.
But anyway, I will not going to continue using SO from other bank as I could actually do internal transfer from one of my flex account at the same time when I am doing manual funding to my flex account from other external account.
I am just copying the DD instruction from the Previous DD mandate from my Nationwide Flex direct account. If my memory serves well. the Sort Code, AC nor and Ref (e.g saving account number) is already available.Be careful closing your FlexDirect if it's the only "eligible" account you have. Yes you can fund your account from external account, or via cash over the counter.
Are you trying to set up a standing order or faster payment?
Are you using a a/c number that ends with 333 or something like that?
If so you may find that faster payments wont work as this is a generic sort code a/c number combination and external standing orders/faster payments fail (or a bounced back)
At work when we do a transfer to a N/wide account we issue a cheque rather then using faster payments as the system struggles with the generic sort code that some N/Wide savings accounts have.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
