In your case the funding to your NW - regular saver is from Flexdirect account not from Natwest. That is also what I did in the past. But now my flex direct interest has dropped so, I wanted to close it so I will need to rearrange the SO.

I am interested in knowing whether they allow the funding come direct form External account to RSA, not via Nationwide account.

Be careful closing your FlexDirect if it's the only "eligible" account you have. The terms read:

"1. The account is for individuals aged 18 or over who meet one of the following two criteria:
    a. Hold a FlexOne account and be aged 18 or over, or hold a FlexAccount and have:... [£750pm for three months or completed an account switch to us in the last four months.]
    b. Hold a FlexDirect or FlexPlus account.

    ...

    4. If you no longer meet the eligibility criteria we may transfer the account to another instant access savings account and the terms and conditions of that account will apply and we will contact you when we do this."

This could be moot given the foregoing but re direct deposit, this account only has a roll number. It used to be that with these types of accounts there was a common sort code and account number and then you entered the roll number in the reference of your payment instruction.

I cannot post a link but if you Google, "Nationwide find your sort code and account number" you'll find a page with instructions on how to direct deposit to various types of accounts. This type of account is not listed there. I think you'd need to call them.

Yes I am aware about that.
I have two flex accounts and have been paying £1000 a month, which I used to get the EU Travel insurance.

That is probably the explanation why it bounces back.
But anyway, I will not going to continue using SO from other bank as I could actually do internal transfer from one of my flex account at the same time when I am doing manual funding to my flex account from other external account.

I am just copying the DD instruction from the Previous DD mandate from my Nationwide Flex direct account. If my memory serves well. the Sort Code, AC nor and Ref (e.g saving account number) is already available.

Yes you can fund your account from external account, or via cash over the counter.

Are you trying to set up a standing order or faster payment?

Are you using a a/c number that ends with 333 or something like that?

If so you may find that faster payments wont work as this is a generic sort code a/c number combination and external standing orders/faster payments fail (or a bounced back)

At work when we do a transfer to a N/wide account we issue a cheque rather then using faster payments as the system struggles with the generic sort code that some N/Wide savings accounts have.

When the system opened up two regular savers, I had one that has a card attached that has a sort code and account number and the other one had a sort code that was XXXX/XXXXXXXX or something similar, so it wasn't the standard six number sort code/ eight number account number combination.

I closed down the account that had the generic sort code and kept the one that had the standard combination and I send my funds from other banks account, and once paid in cash over the counter with the card.

The sort code is 07-00-93 and account number is 33333334, with your individual N'wide reference number for the account (for example 1234/123456789).

But have you tested the answers yet? The account number solution that's been given by 10_66 was on the NW webpage I pointed you towards (did you look?) but it says that that that account number and sort code is for accounts _with a passbook_ which this account isn't. 10_66 may know for certain as they've tried it.

Sometimes the answer is to read the T&Cs and/or call them if things aren't clear. It _is_ part of a discussion. I'm sorry I tried to help.

Well the response is not intended to you. I am refering to the post when peoplea re asking question here in this forum and get this kind of response like this ....

" Do the terms and conditions of the Flexclusive Regular Saver state that funding has to come from Nationwide? "

For the response like this we do not need a discussion forum, there is a T&C, there is CS you could always call, there is rule, regulation, law available online for you to read, etc
I agree with you on this one. Usually the information provided by forumites is helpful but I think sometimes some of them get a bit fed up answering the same questions over and over again. But you are quite right, just because you have read the Ts&Cs doesn't mean you understand them or that you haven't missed something important and it is always helpful to have a third party confirm (or otherwise) your interpretation of the Ts&Cs.

You are referring to a response that I made. My response was legitimate. The terms and conditions of the account referred to are few. Nowhere within them does it mention anything about funding having to come from within Nationwide. Reasonably it would have taken less time to read the actual terms and conditions, so few are they, than it would to post here!

My explain your difficulties, you may well be better to send money to your Nwide account then do a transfer to fund the regular saver.

Alternatively pay cash over the counter if you have a passbook savings account number rather then a sort code account number combo (which I understand the card linked regular savers have)

Not all regular savers have this comination, if you opened the account and asked for a card for access then you are allocated a sort code and account number that is individual to you rather then then generic sort code and the reference number which is your account details.

Nationwide savings accounts mainly passbook types have the combination you mention above, and this may cause issues when trying to send faster payments or standing orders.
